....and I don't need your 'for the record' comments. The gospel of football according to Steel and Alehouse - no ta. Of ocurse I agree about players diving etc but that was not the case at watford which is the jist of this thread.
Good football off the top, - look at Reading trying to give Man City a game yesterday, look at Reading at BDTBL time after time. Leeds at Old Trafford last season, SUFC v PNE away in play-offs. Plenty of more examples of SUFC playing decent, pacey, athletic, controlled football.
You need to watch the replays of Watford - if you still think that is how you should tackle and challenge in the air then fair enough. Seriously steel I could not care less what level you played or managed at.
I never mentioned Watford in my first post mic, I was responing to the pompus statement that someone else's view of how the game should be played is "pre-historic" and "barbaric" - just because it doesnt fit the Donny Rovers (your beloved club) and Arsenal philosophy. I thought it was arrogant and once again an attempt to ridicule someone else. There are ways of disagreeing with someone without mocking them.
Good football is winning football mic. The best example is Manchester United. They mix it up and have played the best football for a long time because they win things. Style is by far a secondary thing.....just my view, not gospel you understand
I dont expect you to care about where I've played/managed mic, but its worth noting that your (and indeed my views) are not the total authority when it comes to how football should be played. I dont ridicule other opinions because I respect them and if I want to disagree I do it with some common decency.
