A bit worried about Enda.

You have to chuckle at people describing Stevens as nowt special. To get a better player than that you’d have to pay £6-7m, and that’d be no guarantee of anything more than a marginal improvement.

For me Stevens is a top class Championship wingback, with a first date attitude. Really think he’s in contention for POTY so far.

I don’t think I’d go this far. £6-7m would get you a significant upgrade on Enda who is probably still only around a £2m player. He is improving though.

I almost agreed with it all but I don’t think he’s performed well enough and as consistent as players like Basham, Hendo and Sharp to have a chance of that award, granted there’s still half a season left.

It's funny how different we see players isn't it, I think our wingbacks are all OK, but I think the standard of player we are putting together are better than our wingbacks and I would look to be making improvements in this area, as I say just my opinion

LWB is a very specialised position, don’t see too many better than him in the PL.

I know he has his weaknesses but he has come on so much this season, and some of his play is really eye catching. We've been on telly so much that higher placed clubs are bound to be impressed. Also, stats are very important these days, and his are very impressive. Not trying to flog him off, just saying I've been really impressed of late. I now see RWB as the weaker side.

There's so many who seem to think we can upgrade here.

I'd love to actually hear their options. 6-7 apparently gets you an upgrade, please share who would be an upgrade that would cost 6m.

I said the same last season when Enda was coming in for unjustified criticism: who are all these better left wing backs in this league? I can only think of two that I would consider replacing him with. The left wing back at Brum who was their mom at the lane, Pederson; and the Leeds left wing back who they got from Wolves, Barry Douglass. A bit of perspective: they'd both be club record signings if we got them. Feel free to add your own names. Stevens has been our best player this season alongide Norwood and was statistically and objectively excellent last season. That said I don't fear losing him as much as I might - he'll be 29 before the start of next season.
We could really do with bringing in a RWB who is anywhere near as good as Stevens. It was nice to see our first excellent RWB performance this season, from Baldock vs Derby County.Enda Stevens fan club (founder member).

To add to his assists, he now looks like a Premier player, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were admiring glances cast his way this window?.

There's plenty of competition but he's my Player of the Season so far.

And I've been half wondering if any Premier League clubs would be looking at him, but maybe they're too busy chucking their monopoly money at Exotic Europeans.

I don’t think we need to worry. He’s been playing well but to step up to the Premier League he’d need to be beating a man and putting in deliveries resulting in good chances far more often than he does.

Been fantastic defensively and helping us get the ball up the pitch but haven’t seen enough in the final 3rd to define him as a Premier League quality wing back.

As a left back however !?

He has a girls name. Zero chance of interest.

Joe Bryan cost £6m, Barry Douglas £3m. The two outstanding players in that position in the Championship last season

Barry Douglas was a bargain, no idea why Wolves let him go so cheaply, but his wages will be above what we can afford.

Bristol City had a good season last year, so naturally they'll have players that looked decent. Flint looked decent in one box - not quite sure in his own and he cost 8m? Do i think he's an 8m quid defender, nope.

Same for Bryan, I don't think he's shown it consistently to show he's better than what we have personally.

All an opinion of course.

Those who were critical of Enda earlier in the season were just as misplaced as those being critical of Fleck recently. Neither warranted the criticism they received.

Shouldn't your thread title be more along the lines of "I'm really relaxed about enda stevens"

I'd be more worried about who's going to compete with Duffy.

Sorry, but I don't think Enda is anywhere near Prem class.
He can do some great stuff, but can't do some awful stuff as well.
Having said that, it's good to see how he's developed/developing and who knows, perhaps one day.
Like what can he do awful he is the best all round wingback left back in the league, same goes for baldock

People expect them to take on 5 players and whip in a David Beckham cross there defenders

Nope, I expect him not to give the ball away with a 5 yard pass as often as he does :)

People moan about not spending millions but how much would it costs to sign him now

I reckon Oconell/Egan/Baldock/Stevens would all cost 5/10 million quid and we got them for frees apart from Egan
