Our pressing and tackling in their half was superb throughout.

JOC is class , strong as an ox , went a bit off the rails when Brighton came knocking but is back on it again , he will be in the prem next season , one way or another .

I can understand that. There were about five instances where we were building a move down the left when he gifted possession to the opposition. It was most unlike him, and happened repeatedly. Defensively he did well throughout, but he and Basham are key to how we build moves. They aren’t going to get every cross right but you have come to expect both to be capable to retain possession and make simple 5-10 hard passes. That’s why his first half performance had criticism.

2nd half he was absolutely fine.

Egan was fantastic no getting passed him, Norwood spraying balls around like Pirlo, Fleck worked tirelessly all game, Bash and Baldock creating all kinds of danger down the right, Stevens got better and better as the game went on.

Agree, he started the game quite poorly. I'll forgive any player for a few mistakes though, what matters is having the mental strength to shake it off and turn it into an outstanding performance like that.

Icing on the cake of JOC's first half hour that. He was going about it like he wanted show he could get in the team who played against Barnet.

Turned up second half though.

And while we're at it: what about Duffy's left foot "shot" going out for a throw in. His reaction was entertaining, looked like he knew he was going to get grief for that later.

I was worried first 10 of the second half when they penned us in a bit, but I don't think they had the ball in our half from 55 to 80mins. Game management was great today.

Thought most officials would have let that go. He caught it on the line when it was obviously going out. I've seen those allowed before.
