Lowry
Vokes
Bent
Risse
Nosworthy

Hope I'm wrong.

Here's the laws relating to loan transfers...

50. TEMPORARY LOAN TRANSFERS

Temporary loan transfers shall only be accepted on the prescribed form a copy of which shall also be supplied to The Football Association. The provisions of Regulation 43 shall not apply to such transfers.

Players may also be sent on youth Loan to the Football Conference (North and South) divisions. This is always subject to rules of the relevant League.

50.4.1 Regulation 47.2.2 shall not apply;

In such circumstances the appropriate levy payable shall be 5% of the aggregate amount of any Loan Fee and/or subsequent Transfer Fee or Compensation Fee payable in respect of the same Player.

Bent wasn't actually on the bench though was he? I didn't see him warming up at all.

I think they may have realised in time and only actually had six on the bench.... Koz, Yeates, Riise, Maguire, Aksalu and Cresswell.

The OS doesn't list Riise as a loan player - maybe because his loan covers the end of his contract the club have signed him permanently in the same way they did James Harper.

I hope so - what a disaster that would be FFS!

As I said I really hope I'm wrong...

I didn't see bent warming up either!!

Hope the noticed in time then...

I wouldn't get too excited... no one I've spoken to actually saw Bent. I sit behind the dug out and saw the rest warming up but not him.

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility that our OS got the team wrong... with someone assuming we were naming a full bench... and all the other media sources copying it. Sky have failed to properly research a story before this season, proclaiming that Captain Blade delayed the kicking off of the second half when he staged his "protest".

A full list of our players, loans or otherwise, can be found here. It does tend to be more accurate than our OS:

According to wikipedia he signed a three year deal with fulham in july 09, so that runs out at the end of next season.

Good point Linz, media can be wrong, I was late going in so I
Got the team from an app on my phone & it
Had bent on the bench.

Sorry to worry you...

Not convinced Linz - it still has Gary Speed registered as a player! And is Paul Crichton seriously registered?!

He had to be to be on the bench for the Hartlepool match :)

Named on the bench at Hartlepool I believe...

Well I never!

Seth Bennett has suggested season long loans don't count so Nosworthy wouldn't be one of the five - the plot thickens!

Don't worry, all is good!

We only named 6 subs.

Seth Bennett tweeted that, although Bent was named on the media teamsheet, he was left off the official one. We might be ok. Fatty Samuels is sharpening his poison pen as we speak, no doubt.

We are absolutely fine, we only named 6 subs. Started the game with 11 on the pitch, 6 on the bench. That is what will be in the ref's report.

His article has probably hit the press already and he is just waiting for it be posted out tomorrow while he sits eating 10 pizza's.

Does this *really* require a club statement?

It's alleged that Sheffield United named six loan players on their team-sheet for the game against Leeds United on Saturday.

After the team-sheets had been handed in to the referee one of their substitutes was subsequently withdrawn.

The matter is therefore one for the Football League, the referee, and Sheffield United.

There are precedents in relation to the type of incident, which Leeds United itself was found guilty of, and subsequently fined, following a game at Burnley in Novmber 2006.

As far as Leeds United are concerned the matter is closed.

it don't matter anyway wednesday did a few years ago and they got a slap on the wrist

The whole point being, we didn't.

Leeds got a £1000 fine + £1000 suspended for naming 6.

We originally named six, but then before kick-off withdrew one of the loanee's upon realising the mistake.

Following procedure, which perhaps they should have done! :)
