I know Hecky doesn't like to use subs unnecessary but given the schedule and the ability to make 5 subs now it could be a huge boost if used correctly.

It is now eminently possible to change the formation or style halfway through a game.

We can start 5-2-1-2 but there's now nothing stopping us having players on the bench who can change a game. Like a DMC or wingers. Or a Target man.

The biggest struggle we're likely to have this season is breaking teams down. Especially, without MGW. Making the most of the squad would give us much more options if we're being frustrated.

Definitely agree with that. We might start seeing a lot of teams changing tactics in the first half if they've misread the game, solves the problem of getting it right first time on one hand, but could make training plans more difficult.

Having a bigger squad with quality in depth (not just strength) has never been so important with the option of 5 subs available.

Should we get 2 more in at the calibre of player we’re current going for then we have a huge opportunity this season with no excuses

it’s all about the squad

When we were in the prem CW and our club didn’t want it as it gave the teams with bigger teams with stronger squads like Liverpool Man C an upper hand against smaller clubs/squads like ours

Now us & Boro etc will benefit against the likes of Luton & Blackpool

When we go up it will be shit a idea again…..

Personally I’d like to see us use it to blood a couple of young uns when we’re 2/3-0 up with 20 to go

Game time against men in a full stadium rather than fill the bench with average established players looking to get an appearance bonus
