1. Cloughie has not become a bad manager overnight. His judgement was sound last season both tactically and with transfers. He's had to replace his 3 best players which inevitably takes time but he will sort things out.
2. McGahey: early days but looks a very capable replacement for Maguire. He will only get better.
3. James Wallace: seems like Cloughie opted for him over Coady. Based on point 1, above, there's every reason to believe he'll prove to be a good player. We just need him on the pitch.
4. The team has better striking options - Higdon and McNulty - who have already shown they can finish if given decent service. Surely a better goals per game ratio can be expected .
5. There is genuine competition for places across the team which didn't exist last season.
