Just been looking at recent match vids and the wing play enables us to fill the box ready for an incoming cross. Bloody good stuff and very exciting.

Some may say we leave the back door open but Chris and Al wouldn't have it any other way. Long may it continue.

 
It is very hard to score goals with one or two players in the box to aim at. The movement of several players help us create an opening and we show composure and knowhow in not just blasting a hopeful cross towards the first post, where plenty of Brum defenders are waiting. The fact that the ball's been down the left for a while pulls defenders towards their own goal and their first post, meaning we have options back to the edge of the box
in Clarke, but also at the back stick, where Carruthers is completely unmarked:

And yet I'm left thinking how many goals actually come from crosses? They usually come from knockdowns or lay offs. Crosses can work but the receiver has to move onto the ball, it's no good playing the ball directly to him
