stuff that in your pipe Brian the blade and the miserati

13 points out of last 18 over 2 points per game when it matters
Like I've said in a previous post, it's Nigel's signings doing the business too

It's coming together slowly and hopefully right when it matters.

Would like us to be a bit more solid at the back, but if we can have a fit Tel Kennedy going into the play off games that will help.

Great result tonight, and last weekend.

The team is showing a lot of character and spirit, which is a good sign as well.

UTB!

This line above is key at the moment because we're showing it in droves which is something you can argue we've not shown a lot of this season, very refreshing to see.

these things take time , cant build spirit and cohesion in 5 minutes
2 derby wins in 4 days , its a new high for me

While the last two were league games, the hype from RS, the local rivalry, the fact we had to win and Brnslay and Doncaster's must win gungho approach, these have felt like high-pressure Cup games. Normally we buckle, but we stayed strong and won both. This experience, and the real Cup matches earlier, bode well for us and gives me more confidence that we could actually play strong and win the Play-Offs.

Well there's nothing we can do about that now, and no point in dwelling. Let's just look forward and be positive, hopefully this is the year we break the hoodo!

Not dwelling mate. I'm chuffed the results are coming, would just love to be more comfortable at this stage. At least it keeps the excitement going right to the end hey.

Bit harsh on Kennedy, Murphy, and Howard.:p Good to see the points piling up - especially in the derby games though at this rate I will have to be sedated for the playoffs:D
Don't mean that as a knock against our regulars, but I'm chuffed every time done, Davies and holt get on the scoresheet even more.

Great run at the moment, lots of goals flying in, but i'm unsure we can beat MK dons in the playoff final, they look awesome at the mo, still we'll see.

Bloody Hell Borbokis. Just when we might have found some tiny pit of what-could-have-been despair to dwell on, you pull us out with this optimistic bollocks.

Not nearly as awesome as we looked before we met Wolves.

I thought we were good tonight generally but a bit disorganised at back at times - we definitely missed Kennedy. Donny were probably the best team that we've played at the Lane this season (league) and we did well to win the game. A draw would have probably been a fairer result. Done and Davies were both excellent.

On a side note, it really is frustrating how quickly people get on player's backs. An example from tonight: Basham played a ball to Brayford and people started groaning and complaining before the ball even reached him - it didn't go out and Brayford got to it. The team has deserved criticism at times this season and it has been given. However, I realised tonight that some people do actually moan at anything and get really angry at nothing. They should seriously handle out blood pressure tablets at games, I bet some fans need them. Is there any wonder the team pass sideaways and play it safe if they get this reaction?

The ref was laughable. Blatant handling outside the area went unpunished, as did the man-handling of Coutts by Bennett.

Good win Blades and it gives me more optimism for the play offs.

I enjoyed the match but we was far from comfortable defending.
Basham and Coutts who was superb Saturday looked tence and uneasy.
The team that played against Barnsley I would be confident in play off situation, tonight's team I would be shitting myself

Mm that's interesting I think spirit and character have been there all season. E.g. late goals scored (Gillingham), comeback victories (Colchester), against the odds victories (Doncaster away) in the first half of the season, and the cup games arguably. I've just don't think we've ever quite been good enough in any department to mount a serious challenge for automatic promotion, and we've really struggled to build up a head of steam at home.

Ha ha! The time difference was a bit kinder to us today! Put me in a good mood. Also, I've already got my flights booked to come back for the week of the final - so I have to be optimistic!!

I don't get this, a draw would have been a fairer result bit !!!
As I understand it if you score more goals than the other team you win, we scored 3 goals they scored 2 so how can they possibly deserve a draw ?

The late goals and the odd comeback victory have been too few and far between for my liking, we might have shown character and spirit in the odd glimpses but i just think we're showing it a lot more recently. The celebrations are a good example, they're all celebrating together. You didn't get this earlier on in the season, maybe in snippets but that's it. Every goal we score the players are going ape shit, i love to see that and may it long continue. The character we're showing at the minute is leading us into not having to score late goals, this is making a big difference imo and takes the pressure off the lads and also lets them play more freely.

Davies running the length of the pitch to celebrate on Satdi was great to see. As was Holt being swallowed up by the crowd.
