Not fussed if we don't get him, what pleases me is that we are willing to spend big bucks if Wilder wants the player.

It seems so. There's an exchange on El Accounto's twitter with a Blade who hints at it, cryptically confirmed by the exiled tax dodger.
 
Now Irvine would be a class signing imo

I've seen him live at the Millers game last season. Scored a real good header and looks a decent footballer

Bold move, statement of intent, and unlike Wilder to comment on it. The fact that Wilder has commented gave me hope that maybe this one wasn't too far from being finalised. If, however...and it's a big IF given that the number is from a bloke on a forum who could easily be a footballing agent but equally could just be a bloke sat in his pants watching soccer AM and scratching his gooch...the bid is £2.4m I'd suggest we are way off with that valuation. In today's market, you're looking at £3.5m+ for Coady.
