It did. We however were extremely well drilled and had a set way of playing that was very one dimensional in terms of how we would play triangles in the wings waiting for the overlap etc.IT DOESN'T WORK
Yes, we don't have the personnel. Money, players, management, tactics all not good enough to compete in this league. It did. We might at 5 3 2 at times now but it's completely different. It's a bit like saying a side playing 4 4 2 playing it out from the back is exactly the same as a side playing 4 4 2 and lumping it to a big man is the same.
Holgate was levels above Trusty and Anel today but I agree the back 5 can get in the binFucking Wilder and his fucking 3-5-2
Tell him to piss off and take Holgate with him.
They’re both as washed up as each other
Luton have found a way?Yes, we don't have the personnel. Money, players, management, tactics all not good enough to compete in this league.
It's not the formation that's the issue or whether we play 3 or 4 at the back, it's how high up the pitch they play that's the issue. We have no pace at the back and they back 2/3 sit on just behind the centre circle. All it takes is a through ball or a long punt and someone with pace beating the offside trap and teams are through on goal. When we drop deep onto the edge of the 18 yard box with the midfield dropping in front, all of a sudden teams struggle to get through us and goals come from set pieces or wonder strikes. The second goal was an example of this, though Anel's inability to see what McGinn was going to do when every fan in the stadium could see what he was going to do, didn't help. But that's why he's captain. Because he's great.
Formation killed us all game. Wilder stubbornly kept it all game like a real fool. The only positive we have this season is the use of the flat back 4 and the emergence of Brooks, both of which are negated by playing a 5. Keeping the same team that went up and adding improvement to their squad. Luton will go down next year if they stay up this year. But unlikely we'll swap places with them unless there is a new owner with deep pockets that can improve this team. Right now this squad is not even a top 6 championship squad. Some dark days ahead. NEED A RICH OWNER THAT WILL INVEST A LOT OF CASH.Luton have found a way?
