I really enjoyed the match at Belper so this one might be worth the trip if you are at a loose end.

From OS.........

United's reserves - fresh from the 4-0 victory over Belper Town on Thursday -travel to face Brigg Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Brigg, who operate in the Unibond League, are nicknamed The Zebras and play at the Hawthorns.

Blades coach Ron Reid will select from a similar squad that secured an impressive win at Belper.

The squad to travel to Brigg is...
Annerson, Binnion, Horwood, Chapman, Cresswell, Walker, Boden, Kerry, Nade, Robertson, Donnelly, Naughton, K. Quinn, Eagers, Wedgbury, Lowton, Gordon, Ross, Hernandez.

Brigg Town 0-5 Sheffield United

As Robbie decided at the last minute, with some feeble excuse, he couldn't make the trip we picked up the late substitute The One (Ross) as we were passing Manor Top.

An easy drive up the M18 soon saw us at Brigg and us parking up in the car park near the club.

Ross then took us through the rough areas of Brigg before we found the town centre. We passed a few pubs before we found The White Hart with the all important pool table.

Silverfox then took the kids apart with his pool skills until finally Ross managed a fluke game to finally pot a black. They were planning to deny all knowledge of this so I expect the lies to flow from now on.

Back at the ground we decided to sample the beer in the club bar. Cheap and decent stuff we stood outside in the sunshine.....YES sunshine! Tommy managed to get himself in trouble with the Brigg staff getting a telling off for standing on the tables.....see the pics :)

Passing the board room (a pre-fab shed) we made our way to the main stand to watch The Blades start the match in the new Green away kit.

United started well and soon started to dominate with Law and Aymen Tahar bossing the midfield and Ian Ross giving them problems down the right.

The first goal come soon enough from that man Jordan Robertson breaking free on the right and slotting home easily.

United seemed free to attack at will and scored a great second - a superb chipped pass from Ross and Law scoring a great volley from over his shoulder into the far corner.

Nade then squeezed the ball over the line to make a 0-3 scoreline at half time after the keeper failed to hold onto a cross from the right.

Tommy and Ross bought some dog food from a shed in the corner and made silly remarks to entertain me during the half time break.

The second half started as the first half had ended with United making attack after attack and Robertson was soon claiming his second although there looked a whiff of own goal about it to me.

Nade and Law hit the bar and post before Robertson finished the scoring with his hat trick (if they give him the second). United then made 5 changes to give the youngsters a run out.

Another good performance from these lads with Aymen Tahar the Man of the Match for us.

Cresswell saw me and waved (how did he play?)

He was steady again and nearly scored on a couple of occassions.

Cresswell had a solid game!

That picture of tommy is class.

Look Steve, there is nothing wrong with losing every game of pool against a couple of pro pool players, so don't make up lies!

Well with the 5-0 scoreline i doubt he had too much to do.

Cheers SF for your reports... they've been added to the main site :)
