Is that date right? If so, I've dropped a right bollock at work :D

Ninja edit :D

I've been writing something to do with the Coventry match and still had the date in mind...

Really looking forward to this one - a win at Donny would definitely bring on that most painful of emotions - hope! Come on you Blades!

I hate to say this but I am hoping that GS pulls out another Blackwell style performance. Doncaster are a better passing side, so I think we should try to stifle them. I'd actually encourage some negative play and go for a 0-0. There's always the chance that we might nick one and win it.

My team would be

--------- SS

Calve Nos Morgs Jordan
--------Britton
------ Ertl Quinn
Ward ------------- Yeates
-------- Boggy

However I think Speed will stick with the same team.

When the pressure is off Speed seems to be getting the best out of his players. We've been ok away from home and hence we might get something out of this game. My prediction is 1-1.

I can actually see us winning this, but I've been tipping up the draw. I think it'll be close and if either side gets that bit of good fortune, that will basically be the difference.

But I'm going for 1-1 as well.

Speed should stick with the same team that beat Hull, why change something that's just taken the first set of points out of Hull?

Unless of course we want to play a in a less physical way.

I seem to remember that Donny's bowling green pitch is quite a quick and bouncy surface as its part grass part artificial isn't it?

Also presuming everyone's fit as well.

Not wanting to change things too much but given Donny's injury crisis, I'd be tempted to mix it up a bit in midfield and upfront

Britton
Yeates -Quinn - Ward
Evans(if fit) - Boggy

Yeah, I see the argument for not changing a winning team, but Cresswell has been awful for the whole season and has added little value in any games. Perhaps Speed should go with the same team, but with a view to getting Cresswell of the pitch if he is not performing. I see the idea of if it ain't broke then don't fix it, but I also think that Ward is very dangerous and gives us much more attacking wise.

Dirty Morgan - right elbow into Hayter's face - not sure how he got away with that one. I defended him in the Hulme incident but this one I wouldn't.

Does anyone else get really fucking annoyed when TV commentators refer to us as 'Sheffield' ? Keown is really getting on my tits.

I've also lost count of the number of independents who can clearly see that we don't set up to win games. Even Chimp featured Keown can see it. Why can't our management? We were playing bloody Doncaster Rovers and let them run rings around us for most of the game. At least lets have a fucking go at teams. Weak, insipid, passionless drivel.
Well played Donny tho. How good do they look? They are all comfortable on the ball, pass to feet, always moving, always in space, and none cost a fortune.

That was awful. Gary Speed is on a hiding to nothing, and McCabe needs to back him to fill the really glaring gaps we have in the team & squad. We were completely outplayed by a much better team, with a wage bill that is probably a lot lower than ours. Absolutely crap performance, and I'm struggling to take any positives from it.

As it doesn't look like Mccabe is going to sepnd another penny on United then we need O'Driscol for manager.

He produces entertaining teams and has a real eye for a player - Dumbuya plucked from non-league. Probably couldn't afford O'Driscol though :-(

Sorry folks, but it was patiently obvious that Ellis had took that team tonight.Passionless, lifeless, hitting it long, and devoid of ideas - a performance that Blackwell would have been proud of.The sooner we get rid of the ginger twat the better.

Also, ship out Nosworthy - he's wank. The QE2 has a smaller turning circle, and he makes Claude Davis look like Franco Baresi.

It's going to be a long winter....

Eh? It was the same negative approach we've seen from Speed every game. It's not his fault he's been left with the worst Utd team for years but his tactics so far have been dire - he doesn't even set us up to attack teams until we go behind.

Pathetic. No skill, no guile and one weak effort on goal in 90 minutes. The attack is non existent, the midfield poor...even Britton seems to have succumbed and the defence is rocky. I hold my breath every time Nosworthy goes near the ball....de Laet can go back and Calve seems a yard short of pace. Doncaster gave us a lesson on how to play and they were not outstanding. They were a yard faster to the ball. We have come nowhere since Speedo took over and it said it all for me that Ellis was on the touch line cos it was reminiscent of the Blackwell days. Anyone can see and has been doing for weeks that we cannot survive on this squad yet no action has been taken except in emergency. The football was clueless with just hopeful punts forward. No new dawn when we won at Hull...Pompey won there today which put that into context. BTW whats the point in bringing on youg Slew with 7 minutes to go? Do we just want to demoralise him.

Looked decent and goes like shit off a shovel.

He ran nearly the full length of the pitch without hardly any of our players even looking to challenge him.

As for our performance it was totally pathetic and we couldnt convert the few chances we had.

Was Dumbaya the black lad at right back ? If so it shows you see a completely different game on TV because he looked crap at the game. Calve looked just as bad for us. Oster was the stand out player ,but quite honestly I thought they were poor ,they just happened to be playing against a poor side.

The first half had absolutely no positives. Then we were two nil down and at best we would have lost 2-1 but could have lost by more by chasing it.

This league is so tight if you try and win every game you just might win more than you lose and at least cause some concern for the opposition but their 40 year old keeper was a spectator first half. Not good enough but no sense of having someone who could change it who wasn't playing - we just haven't got anyone who could make a difference.

Worrying.

Also embarrising on national TV and they won't be knocking on our door for another game.

BTW Donny dropped a bollock by not trying to get some bodies in the ground, if they'd have filled the stand opposite the camera it would have been a great advert for how far they'd come in front of the nation.
