So what are we thinking for the line up?

With their good home record and our good away record, I can't see it being anything but a boring stalemate.

Who else is going and who else is standing? :)

Will be a huge test for us.

A win would be perfect and open up a bit of a gap.

I will be there.

Apparently we've only sold about 600 tickets... but looking at some of the away attendances we've had at the Lane recently (Derby apart) that's actually pretty decent!

I was only expecting about 1000 max to go anyway :(

Long trip for a Sunday.

Early team news......

Webber (hamstring) and Montgomery (illness) could be on bench v Cardiff (Sun).
Halford (tonsillitis) may start. Howard in contention.

:)

!-0 Blades, a henderson downward header through the keepers legs.

Great 3 points although seemed like the ref hadn't got a clue what he was doing.

Anyway cant complain we have had some dodgy decisions go against us this season.

Just watched the highlights on SSN.
First red card looked fully deserved to me, Hendo was through one on one with the keeper, just about to pull the trigger and the guys taken his legs. He might have been making a piss poor attempt to play the ball from the wrong side but he's still taken his legs. Off you go.
Didn't see Wardys goal, I think the cameraman was focussing on Morgan to see who he would attempt to maim next because it would be a better story.
Second red, couldn't see what happened really, cameraman was not zooming in enough. Ref was right on top of it though and was in no doubt. Interesting to hear Blackwell afterwards saying he was right in front of the incident and couldn't see anything wrong.
I do expect to see Barnsley Football Club and Martin Samuels appealing against the red cards, asking for our points to be docked and to have to play our remaining matches behind closed doors for not telling 2 of our players to walk off to even things up a bit.
All in all, great result, don't know what the overall performance was like. Anyone? Didn't even listen to commentary because I was doing the dutiful Son bit on Mothers Day.
It's all looking very healthy now, automatic is still a possibility. We should at the very least be in the play offs.
Come on you red and white wizards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't think I can pick a MOTM.

Mainly because the lads were virtually walking around most of the game, there wasn't really much effort involved.

I reckon it could have been a much bigger score if the lads went for it.

Happy with the result. Would have taken a draw down there at the beginning of the day.

Looks like our little Jamie Ward might become a star.

from where we was stood, you could clearly see an elbow raised and showed towards naughton's face. Hard to tell if it hit or not but if this thing happened in the street the police would be involved........;)

What a beautiful day out :)

Lots of Blades, lots of unhappy natives.... fantastic result!!

(Except being ID'd in the stand in the bar area... steward thought I was 17 hmmmmm... I wouldn't mind except there was a sign saying "no under 16s allowed in this area unless accompanied by an adult" - so you're obviously allowed in there under-age as long as you're not consuming alcohol.. I wasn't even going for a drink - I was going with everyone else who was! Plus, guy who ID'd me was younger than me.. that embarrassed him heh heh)

Sorry for the delay, but the MOTM poll has now been added :)

Commiserations to George, the Bluebirds fan we met before the game who was convinced that this was their year... and that the three points yesterday were going to be all theirs. Erm.. yeah :)

And to the grumpy bloody man stood next to us yesterday... cheer the bloody hell up! We were winning 3-0 away from home and all you could do was chuffing whinge! The reason Halford was taken off was because he was booked. Henderson wasn't booked, despite you claiming the opposite. Don't make things up just to complain! :D

As an EDIT:

Some Cardiff fans seem to think that Quinn celebrating a goal is taunting them for something. And all the little rude boys that share the away end are up in arms about Paddy swinging on the crossbar after almost 90 minutes of pisstaking.

Apparently 500 of their fans surged towards the pitch to get him. Funny how it only took 10 coppers to push them back again?

All mouth, no trousers and can't take a bit of banter back.

Ahhh, there's the problem. Young fella, probably been tugging his tallywhacker so often, he now has his own counter at Specsavers

Cardiff are appealing the red cards.
I have no problem with that

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/cardiff_city/7961204.stm

I do have a problem with this though

The Football Association of Wales' disciplinary committee will hold their appeal within the next few days.

They playing in the English league, they were playing against an English club so the English FA should deal with it in my opinion.

Who would have delt with it if the game was played at Bramall Lane?
Is the location something to do with it?

Nope... Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham are always answerable to the Welsh FA.

EDIT: Cardiff have successfully appealed the second card but the first one has been upheld.

Cardiff fan at work said that while generally the Welsh FA have always rescinded their red cards to give them an advantage over the English, they may be slightly more impartial this time because Swansea are in the same division and still have Cardiff to play, so they wouldn't want to be seen as favouring Cardiff.

Seems ridiculous that playing in the same league as all English clubs, they're treated in a different way when it comes to discipline. If they're under the authority of the Welsh FA they should play in the chuffing League of Wales. If they want to play in our league, they should do so under the same admin as everyone else.

It's not as if Wales is a proper country anyway. :D

I presume that the only angle of the McCormack / Naughton elbow is the one which they showed on Sky Sports News - I'm pretty sure there's only usually one camera at untelevised games - and from that angle you can't see shit, one way or the other. Our FA NEVER rescind red cards unless there is absolute proof from video evidence that the offence wasn't commited.

It's an absolute disgrace especially considering some of the appeals that have been disregarded.
