Out:
Godfrey
Matos (transfer/loan 50/50) but bit of an awkward one as he only just joined us
Louie Barry
Ryan One (loan)
Louie Marsh (loan)

In:
1 central midfielder (2 if Riedewald doesn’t extend his contract)
1 holding midfielder
Right/left winger backup for Brooks/O’Hare
1 striker (if Bamford doesn’t extend his contract)

Out:

Bindon
Godfrey
Barry
Ogbenne
Shackleton
Matos (loan)
Zatterrstrom (loan)
One (loan)
Marsh (loan)

In:

GK (perm)
CB (loan)
RB (loan)
CM (loan)
RM (loan)

Trying to think about an option for a goal keeper with a perm, now. In the 80s it was easy. They almost all had perms.

Obviously signed a RB only so far. (He might be average? But it's some championship competition for Seriki at the very least)

What else do we need then? Its an hard one because it seems pointless wasting money but we do need a few fresh decent bodies added to the squad.

GK - Proper competition for Cooper.
LCB - Cant rely on Bindon/Mee/McGuinness to play all the games remaining with Tanganga.
CM - 'Proper' midfielder that's match fit and doesn't get injured alot.
ST - Some actual pace upfront wouldn't go a miss.

Can leave permanently/loan;
3 AI signings
Any u21 players
A.Davies
Zatterstrom
McGuinness
Matos
T.Davies
Chong
Cannon

This transfer window is sadly rather predictable. Lots of talk of signing new players and January can't come doing enough etc. Then when it does come we're well into the window now and just one incoming in a position that although definitely needed was not the priority, but obviously we got a deal done so that's something.

But up top and in midfield both wide and central where we desperately need players we're looking very weak. If Bamford doesn't start then we look poor up top, wingers not wingers or inconsistent wingers and no like for like cover for Rideweld, so if he doesn't play you can almost certainly expect a lot more chances for the opposition and we revert to basketball football with no control of a game.

Until the Charlton game I was very optimistic of a play off push. These latest two defeats especially with injuries and suspensions rife dll at the same time means play offs look unlikely and recruitment seems to have stalled, no doubt players looking at our recent form will be less keen to join now. This season looks a waste and the squad unbalanced with too many areas of weakness to sort in this window and can't see that sorted till the summer. We could have been pushing top two this season had we not done what we did in the preseason.

We can forget the playoffs now just staying in the division and rebuilding is the key.

I think outgoings would make me happier than incomings unless they are proper jigsaw pieces for next season.

It seems early to be condemning all the AI lads to the bin. Is this Chris making a statement or are they genuinely lacking any hope? I’d rather it be the latter. Ukaki didn’t look out of place in the summer and Nwachukwu has scored a few when in the u21s. Could we not sent them to Rotherham/Doncaster/Chesterfield even if we pay the wages still, to at least see how they get on in the English senior game rather than making such a snap judgment?

Much as I’ve loved to see him, it also feels Hamer’s time is up. He just doesn’t seem to take his fitness seriously enough.

If Matos is not near the team at the moment then may as well save his wages and get a loan fee.

Unless we’re chronically short overall I think I’d bring the shutters down.

yes have to agree unless weve a major upturn in form no chance of top 6 and now looking once again like a relegation battle so dont think we will be doing a lot of business this month now so long as we finish 4th bottom upwards that will do and go again in august but boy is a major overhaul of players at the club needed this summer

I think doing nothing isn’t the style of Chris, even if he has to take a pill for the club.

Here is my prediction:

Hamer out on deadline day to overseas
Rothwell in on loan as replacement
Matos and Zatterstrom out before deadline day

Burrows ends up staying though we have a will he, wont he with him and recalling RND from QPR.

Oné goes on loan to Mansfield or somewhere like Hearts.

A few AI lads get a move somewhere obscure.

Let’s see how close I am!

I don't agree with the logic that we shouldn't bother signing anyone now, given the play-offs are something of a pipe-dream. There's a real opportunity to get players in and integrated for a proper push next season. That extra 3 or 4 months playing with the squad shouldn't be underestimated. I can see the argument against expensive loans and I do tend to agree with that but there's no reason we shouldn't target one or two permanent deals if we can shift on some deadwood.

i think the lack of outgoings is holding our incomings up its looking increasingly obvious that unless we get 3 or 4 off the payroll we cant bring the 3 or 4 we want in on to the payroll

I don't personally think we'll be in a relegation battle and I think we'll finish around 12th unless new recruits are brought in. However as this is our last season of significant parachute payments this will potentially be a sliding doors moment. But we've got the right guy in place in my opinion to oversee a mini rebuild if that's what happens this summer.

As for now, hopefully two more coming in but it's all gone very quiet.
