20 goal a season striker out on loan

just wondering what your thoughts are on this ..

I know mcnulty is clearly a bit of a billy big time and has some daft mates but I honestly think he is a 20 Goal a season striker if he plays all the time .

and he's out on loan ... Shouldn't we be recalling him he's clearly hit form ?

13 in 43 I think it was, 23 of which he came on as a substitute.

Few weeks ago I was thinking that he should still be 1st choice because he is a great finisher as proved at Livingston & pompey. That we certainly couldve done with at Barnsley. but after clough shattering his confidence blaming McNulty for all the midfield failings. As never got how clough thought he could score with no service as he'd be lucky to get probably 1 half chance per games. So maybe this short spell might be best thing to restore the confidence clough destroyed week after week

Oddly, I actually agree with you in that McNulty should have been used as part of a strike force including Done, Adams and Sammon and would have been perfectly adequate for our needs, and that we didn't need Sharp. What I was questioning is that you're talking about McNulty in terms of ridiculous arbitrary goal counts for an individual in a team game. Tell me which of these you'd rather like:

a) 20 goals and 5 assists
b) 15 goals and 15 assists

c) 20 goals, including 5 penalties
d) 15 goals, including someone else scoring 7 penalties because they're a better penalty taker

Very true, can't see what all the fuss is about, some kid who sometimes warms the bench of an underperforming third division team bangs a few in for a fourth division team.
