i've said 3rd. I think we will improve under Adkins, but fall short of autos agonisingly again..........hoping to be proved wrong and we go straight up as champions!

Davies and a few others so all things considered with Adkins been better tactically than Clough as evidenced with his promotions i'll go for about 5th or 6th, maybe this will change after seeing some transfer dealings but until then it seems a strange time to ask people and get a realistic answer.

Ok. Just don't understand why you'd make a prediction, then moan about the poll being too soon, surely if you thought it was too soon you would've waited before you make a prediction? Anyway, it doesn't really matter does it in truth

I made a prediction because you were asking but ultimately i thought i'd state that imo it is too early to predict a realistic target until transfer dealings are sorted atleast, i.e. incomings and outgoings, hope that clarifies it mate and trust me, i don't have any problem with you or anybody wishing to make predictions if they want to. You shouldn't have been pressurised into making a prediction my friend, should've stuck to your guns and waited before making a prediction!! after all, opinions are everything on this board so i don't for once criticise you for having one, just unfortunate the opinion was slightly contradictory on this occasion.

Must we really do this now? I know that this appointment has excited everyone but let's give the guy and his team a chance to get their feet under the table before we start setting the bar for them. They have a big job ahead to turn a 5th placed side into automatic contenders.

Once I see how the squad and division is shaping up I might take a punt at predicting where we will finish. Impossible to tell at the moment. Like guessing what the weather will be like this time next year.

I've gone for third. Adkins will no doubt improve us, but improving us from where we are now to title winners is a huge ask and probably a little too far fetched.
As I recall we all expected to rip the league a new one at the start of last season too.

Because we finished the season before well and the faith I had in Clough.

It's all ifs,buts and mebbes at the moment. If the potential of Done, Che, McNulty etc can be unlocked, supported by the likes of Murphy, Flynn, Bash and supplemented by some actual proper centre backs (the position we really really need to strengthen) then autos are well within reach.

The teams coming down are not (IMO) as strong as the teams that went up - Blackpool will do well to stay up, Millwall will be mid table, Wigan probably the best. Swindon have just had their squad gutted. We should be able to out recruit any other team in the division. I'm struggling to see, on paper, who the 2, 3, 4 or 5 sides that are going to finish above us are.

Of course, football is played on grass, so I'm not predicting anything yet.

Impossible to predict until we see just how much of our dead-wood NA manages to get rid of and who he brings in.

Current squad would finish about 6th to 8th !!

Its not easy to get players out who are under contract ....... that's the problem.

Yes understand it's hard to predict currently but it was only meant as a light-hearted general consensus as to where we all think we shall be at the end of the season. I'm sure they'll be another poll like this when all the signings are done & dusted.

As i've said before, it was not meant as a serious all or nothing prediction. Simply just displaying a light-hearted feeling of where we could be at the end of the season. If only i'd known it was going to get such a hostile response, i would never of dreamed of doing such a thing as posting a poll on a forum.
