14 games to go

We had two for each position plus three keepers. We didn’t need more players who would not be in the squad nor were likely to play.
Exactly this. I think one of the reasons we weren't getting the most out of the squad was it became too big, so there were more players registered not making the match day squad then there were.

Hard to create good moral and a tight knit group when squad is bloated with too many players.

With our injury situation, I will be ecstatic if we finish in a play-off position. I feel we will be 7th or 8th after todays game. Talk of grabbing 2nd spot is complete fairytale.

If we can get 4th so the second leg is at home that would be some achievement considering where we were in November

I think we'll come up short.

We're keeping clean sheets but has had some good fortune as well. That is unlikely to hold. Especially with injuries and suspensions at the back. The bigger factor will be the struggle we've had scoring goals. Sure, we spanked Swansea but largely due to their stupid tactics. In the last 4 we've failed to score in 2 and got the late goal last time out.

The frequency of games and the thinness of the squad will mean we start dropping points. Billy can't keep playing and we play worse as a team without him. We may well end up in the play-offs. It seems likely now. But I suspect we'll have worn ourselves out by the time we get there.

Still think injuries and suspensions will do for us,if we had brought in more cover in January instead of the bare minimum we might not be fretting about them now.14 games is a long way with a depleted squad,if some of these don't come back soon, we could be really struggling because for sure, more knocks are coming. If we can keep grinding out results while we get a few back,we might be in a position to finish strong,at the moment I feel that we are at full stretch and the opponents coming up will exploit that.
Agree with this

We have done remarkably well since hecky took over but I , like you , think tiredness , decreasing options plus having to play players out of position will hurt us .

Today will , imo , be a massive test . A team on a good run with energy - let’s see how we do bit I’m not expecting a good outcome

A feeling in my water

I agree

We will need everything going for us in terms of players coming back , keeping clear of injuries and suspensions and keeping as fresh as possible

I really don’t understand this ‘Billy can’t keep playing’ mantra.

There’s 14 games left, maybe 17. He’s 36 and is in great physical condition due to his professionalism and determination, driven by a strong to desire to keep playing.

If he picks up an injury then fair enough, but otherwise he must play, there simply is no one else in his class 🤷🏻‍♂️

When you expect disappointment, it doesn't feel so disappointing. We were due a performance like that after our recent exertions. We'll bounce back on Friday and muller Forest

Certainly no catching Bournemouth now. They're such spozzy twats nobody can match their rouble doped good fortune

Legitimately losing 1-0 then get 60 minutes against 10 men against a team carrying injuries from the last game.

Hope they sink without a trace. All that's wrong with football the way they left the Championship the last time.

I honestly thought we could catch them and get automatic, now realise we never had a chance of that because of this rotation policy, too many dropped points.

I don't agree with rotating as much but the anger should be directed towards QPR, Hull, Preston and Boro and the League for helping to create a backlog where you had to implement such a policy whilst your first choices are dropping like flies.

No anger from me. Don’t agree with it myself and think we should play our strongest side every week, be plenty of chances to take players off and give them a rest when we are in control of a game. Like Carl Asaba said on Twitter the other day, play your strongest 11 and worry about the next game after winning the current one. But Hecky is obviously doing it for the right reasons so as much as I disagree with it he has to backed with it.
