Good to see we are still making an effort to keep the prices low...

SUFC said:
The FA committee have again stepped in to confirm ticket prices for the FA Cup 5th round tie after we were unable to agree a suitable price with Hull.

In the current economic climate, and to continue offering affordable football, United offered Hull the same pricing structure as the previous round fixture against Charlton. Unfortunately Hull were unable to agree to this and after the Blades turned down Hull's revised proposal the FA were brought in to make the final decision.

Ticket Office manager, Emma Wylie said: "We are extremely pleased that the FA have taken into consideration the current situation and listened to our reasoning behind keeping tickets at an affordable price. Our only disappointment is that they have not agreed to our efforts to secure a discount for Season Ticket Holders."
Tickets for the match due to be played on Saturday 14th February 2009, kick off 3pm are priced at £15 Adults, £5 Concessions (students, over 60s and disabled supporters), and £1 Juniors.

Tickets are on sale now.

Season Ticket Holders have until 12 noon on Saturday to claim their own seats.

Please note that the Ticket Office will be open until 7pm on Thursday (5th) and Friday (6th) this week.

Ace, it'll only cost me a fiver and I can sit in my own seat :)

Not much to hope for with this game. It is kind of the same as Middlesboro last year, a team we can compete with but who should have the talent to beat us first time. No expectations for this game but lots of hope and a chance to give s few different players a shot.

Come on then... onwards and upwards.

The cup game could be the best thing to happen to United after last Saturday. The boo boys are likely to keep their money in their pockets and we haven't got league position to worry about.

I want to see the lads trying... and the boss trying something new. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of players who did actually put some effort in on Saturday were rested - especially Naughton who is on international duty this week and took a bit of a battering against the pigs.

So who would you play?

And more importantly, who'll be in the pub beforehand? :D

I'd give Hendrie and Ward a start, and possibly Sun. Other than that who do we change? How many players are there on the fringes who could come in and do a job? Cotterill? If he can get his confidence back, then play him. But does he need games to get confidence, or confidence to get games?

And yes, I'll be at the pub.

we need to shuffle the pack to try and get some results. Chuck some fringe players in and tell them to keep the shirt!

Bennett, Sun, Killa, Walker, Naysmith, Cotterill, Monty, Hendrie, Ward, Lupoli, Webber. SUBS: Kenny, Halford, Howard, Sharp, Naughton, Quinn, Travis

But then what about others who have played well and then lost the shirt because of trying these fringe players out?

Whilst I feel some changes are required in the team, I don't think it should be wholesaler changes. A different approach of play away from the league would be good and it is only a loss in the FA cup if it goes wrong.

Blackwell stated we have to play dirty to get results at this time of the season, well in the cup we don't have too.....

Stick Halford and Webber up front, Hendrie and Cots on the Wings with Monty and Howare in midfield. Also give Sun a run at the Back instead of Naysmith. I usually need a coffee before the game to wake me up, but will think of you in the Lion. Go Blades!!!

Normal back 4 quinn, monty, hendrie and cotts in the middle

webber and lupoli up front.

And play the ball on the floor

4 - 4 ****in 2!!!

Howard should never get near the first team.....EVER.

I thought it would be 'fun' to see Halford up front. Regadless I have to beleive that against a Premiership side, and with the number of players not available, we are likely to see the 4-5-1 with Webber up front alone. I still have hope that we will see Cotts and Hendrie on the wings and it will be interesting to see who ends up as a sub.

I reckon we'll play them off the park. Then go back to normal in the league.

If that's the case, then maybe it is a confidence issue that needs to be addressed more than anything else. If a player plays with confidence, they're more likely to take time on the ball rather than just boot it elsewhere for someone else to deal with.

If we did play Hull off the park, it would prompt more questions than offer answers.

To my calculations we have 16 fit players, including 3 keepers and Kyle Walker who hasn't played a league game yet.

Also, 2 strikers and 1 recognised centre half. I can't say I'm confident!

For all those over the pond... the game is available on Fox :)

1-0 to the Blades & a scrappy game. cant see Hull bringing a full strength team as there priority is to stay in the Prem.

Perhaps I'm in the wrong corner but here it is FOX USA and only on FOX Canada after a 12 hour delay. I guess I will be hunting the net, but thanks for the heads-up.

Tis also on...

Not sure who I should be asking this, but is Maxime available or did he play for Mansfield earlier in the competition?

Maxime says what with it being Valentines Day and all, he'd rather save himself for what Foxy has in mind later that evening ;)

Maxime's rather colourful exploits at Mansfield can be found HERE... so in answer to your question, no he isn't tie-cupped :D

Good morning Blades...................have no fear the Blades will win today !
