The 10 yellow card cut off date for suspensions is 12 March this season.

We only have 3 games before this date and with Paul Coutts on the most yellow cards (6), no one can get a 2 game suspension by this date.

Obviously we need to avoid any red cards but this is good news and shows we are well disciplined under Wilder.

That dirty hard tackling bastard Coutts :) That shows how shit referees are actually and what they really book players for.

Very good discipline, I'm sure Bash was getting a yellow card ever other game last season

Well I remember Chris Morgans challenge on Iain Hume not incurring a card.

Hopefully one of our defenders will be just as lucky against Gary Madine next week.

Morgs did get a yellow card for the challenge on Hume actually but yes the ref will need to watch Madine next week.

good spot , can be a key factor in the run in
Bolton without jay Spearing next week due to his transgressions

His 10th was for belting the ball into the upper tier after they scored too. Missed Bradford away and us, absolute madness.

Actually let them get booked, then it can't be looked back at by the FA ala Chris Morgan smacking Robin Van Persie (Starting to see a theme occurring here)

I was thinking this the other day, in that we don't get that many yellow cards.

have we had any missing through suspension? Other than red cards obvs.
Not just well disciplined, but also shows we are well organised and not needing to make last ditch rash tackles so much. Also suggests we have better control of the ball, rather than players who's second touch is a tackle we have some quality.
I could watch Coutts and Fleck all day. Any aspiring kids wanting to be centre mids should watch those lads as much as any premier league players....though more goals separates them from the best I would say.

Whilst it may be working in our favour - this just goes to show how daft a date cutoff is for racking up of suspensions.

Wouldn`t it be better for a total games cutoff - i.e. 0-15 games - 5 bookings, 15-30 games - 10 bookings, 31-46 games - 15 bookings

Miss 1 game for the first transgression of the above, 2 for the second and 3 for the third...

Probably but I guess it's harder for the FA to administer. I think the 15 bookings before the end of the season is to ensure they further punish the serial offenders. Hammond would have easily got there if, god forbid, he'd played more games for us last season.

Really good players rarely need to tackle. Positioning, anticipation & nous are more than enough.

Is it listed on a particular website how many yellow cards players have, can't find one. Either for United or other clubs in general. The EFL only seem to list the ones who are one off a ban.

Soccerbase records them on each player's page.

To be fair, I think Coutts has deserved most of his bookings, not for hard tackling but cynical pull backs or trips when we get caught in possession. Those are what I would call "good" bookings though. Where a player takes one for the team rather than daft, unnecessary ones.

I call them good bookings to noticed billy did the same against scunny

all the stars are in alignment
we just get better every game and bolton and scunny are set on self destruct. Even I am gob smacked at the lead we have
Its not so much will we go up as when, and by how much
if we go on a run which is possible with our run in and say win 10 of the 12 wed finish on 98 points
we could finish 15 points clear

That's a good point - we've picked up very few bookings for dissent this season: one suspects that Tufty disapproves somewhat.

Bolton have lost Josh Vela for 2 Games as well as he has racked up 10 yellow cards

According to the FA site he's 1 booking from suspension along with Beevers.
The cut of point is the 2nd Sunday in March so they have 2 games to stay out of trouble.

Coutts booking v Scunny was when the ref told him to get off the pitch when he was laying across the touchline and i think he politely informed the ref that he didn't agree with such a movement whilst nursing his injured limb...

As for discipline. Wilder has certainly cleaned up the nonsense this year. We still get the odd player stepping out of line and contesting a decision, but mostly the players accept the decision and get back on with the game. Something which you don't ever see in the Premier League as the players crowd the ref
