Up in the hills!
I must admit I cringed last night when they had Holden sent off, and as usual we seemed to make hard work of it after that, despite having the majority of the ball.
Why do United always struggle against 10 men? Is it just The Blades way?

Heck, we equalised with 9 men on the pitch, I think we're entitled to struggle against 10 once in a while. Then again I rarely remember United playing well against 10 men, I'm sure one year we were 2-0 against Ipswich who'd had Counago sent off and we managed to lose 3-2!

Indeed: 8th February 2003.

This is my point, I can't really remember us playing well against 10 men either. Surely we must have spanked someone once when they'd had a man or two off!

Same year as we when collapsed against them in the cup, 3-0 up to 3-3, but ended up winning 4-3 wasn't it? So many dramatic matches that season, it's just a pity that final game in Cardiff was so one-sided.

I remember a match at home vs Portsmouth, they had 2 or 3 players sent off, we had someone sent off, Beagrie I think. Managed to win with a last minute Paul Mariner o.g.! When that went in everyone went crazy!!!

It wasn't the last minute. It was around the 70 minute mark.

Because we don't adapt - change the formation - put out a more attacking formation!
Wilson does not appear capable of 'thinking outside the box' and adapting to situations - when Holden was sent off they immediately brought on a defender for attacking midfielder Baxendale but Wilson didn't take that into account until half time when he changed McAllister for Cofie ( a like for like given what Cofie was asked to do!)
Wilson very rarely changes things despite things that happen in the game - usually his substitutions are like for like and generally too late to influence the game
Either he doesn't have the bottle or can't / won't change a pattern - either way he highlights why he has had little or no success as a manager!

Have to agree with Fiery Blade, to make a difference we should have changed formation when everybody in the ground could see 4-4-2 was not effective we should have gone 3 at the back (whats the point of having 4 defenders when thay are playing only 1 striker) and gone either 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.
I know we won but it we made hard work of it and it worries me Wilson doesnt seem to be able to change tactics or formation

Like many others last night it puzzled me why when they went down to ten men it took so long for DW to change things.

Whilst Kitson has chipped in with a few crucial goals and has brought quality to the team the fact is he pretty immobile and has not yet struck up an understanding with Blackman in the main they are miles apart when in posestion.

Surely the introduction of Miller in a 433 line would warrant a go

I remember us beating Forest at the lane 2-1, smith with both goals, and one of theirs got sent off with them leading 1-0 on the stroke of HT.

We then dominated the second half. And David Platt got sent off in he last minute.

Didn't we spank WBA 6-0 when hey has someone sent off??

i was there when we battered West Brom 6-0. Richard Sneekes got sent off for elbowing Michael Brown in the shoulder, went down holding his face.

Marcus Bent got a hatrick that day. I'd say Michael Brown scored a screamer but that happened so often you might get it mixed up with another game.

Remember the brownie one particularly, absolute stonker, brought down the ball on his thigh and volleyed it ino the top corner...

I think even the legendary Alex Notman managed one in that game.

As I recall, Nigel Quashie flattened someone, probably Kozluk, so Devlin ran in and had a pop. Quashie had a pop back and got sent off and the incensed Forest players spent the rest of the match trying to stick one on Devlin which Platt finally managed to do in injury time after we took a short corner! I remember finding it all pretty funny.
