A Blades in London thing?

Presume by that, that it's easy to get from Euston to Watford Junction?

Any Blades who are around, Ill send an email round with details. Theres an 18:29 train from Euston which gets into Watford Junction at 18:45.

Me & Keenz will be down there early :)

Not finalised the places to visit before the match yet, probably the usual :)

Myself and Blade in Thatcham will be there. He'll be coming from Berkshire, so he'll get into Paddington. I'll be coming from work in Victoria.

Might be meeting a mate of mine who's a Watford season ticket holder in the Wetherspoons. Could pop along to Euston before hand for a cheeky one though.

We'll most likely be in Wethers for a while and I know a number of other Blades were planning on it.

I think the Wethers is where we were planning to visit pre match. See you all in there.

Haven't been to any away games so far for the first time in many years - have a ticket bought for the original game, so will prob still plan to make it.

I'm getting a ticket today so shall be up in the wetherspoons too. going via paddington and euston. aiming for an early dart from work so hopefully up watford way for 6 ish. I guess The Fox and The Keenz will be there by then.

The match **should** go ahead according to Watford.

FOLLOWING Saturday's postponement between Watford and Swansea City at Vicarage Road, due to an under-soil heating malfunction and the freezing temperatures in Hertfordshire, the club would like to update supporters ahead of tomorrow's (Tuesday) game with Sheffield United.

In response to overnight forecasts of sub zero temperatures on Friday (29 January) the club's under-soil heating was switched on at 10.00am.

The system takes several hours to reach maximum working temperature and was fully functional at 6.00pm on Friday evening.

Groundstaff found the system had shut down overnight and the pitch was frozen when they arrived at Vicarage Road early on Saturday morning (30 January).

Attempts were made to re-start the system in consultation with the system's maintenance contractors, however these were unsuccessful.

An examination of the system, coupled with the depth of frost on the pitch suggested that the shut down had occurred around midnight.

Fault diagnosis indicated that replacement parts would be required and as these are not stock items, they could not be sourced until today (Monday).

The match referee, Trevor Kettle, and coaching staff of both teams were immediately informed of the situation and asked to attend the stadium.

On arrival, Mr Kettle inspected the pitch and determined it was unplayable, as one third of the pitch would remain in permanent shadow, and with a wind-chill factor of zero, there was no possibility of this part of the pitch thawing sufficiently to enable the game to take place.

His decision to postpone was accepted and supported by both clubs. News of the postponement was then circulated to the media.

The club's under-soil heating was in place and working during the recent snow conditions in December and January.

Chief Executive Officer Julian Winter said: "It is extremely disappointing and frustrating for everyone concerned that this match was postponed.

"We are determined that tomorrow's match v Sheffield United goes ahead and are doing all we can to achieve this.

"I know Malky Mackay and all the players were looking forward to playing at Vicarage Road for the first time in 2010 and I'm sure supporters would like to have welcomed our three new signings to the club."

Contractors will be at Vicarage Road this morning (Monday) to repair the under-soil heating system.

If this isn't successful the club has put together a contingency plan to hire equipment to make the pitch playable.

The club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused, but would like to reassure supporters that everything is being done to ensure the pitch is playable and safe.

We'll be there early doors, you've got my number anyway haven't you?

yep still have it. Fingers crossed the game goes ahead...

The ice from this morning has gone and it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow, so hopefully shouldn't be a problem. I haven't got to a game this year yet! :(

For anyone not heading down to the game later (like moi), come and share the agony in here :)

I'll be manning Twitter and giving you Foxy updates throughout the game.

United have lost Kyle Walker from their squad at Watford tonight after he was recalled by Spurs last night.

Then Blades will be without Gary Naysmith (hamstring), Marcel Seip (hamstring) and Andy Taylor (groin) at Watford tonight, but Lee Williamson is back to full fitness.

Of the two new loan acquisitions Nyron Nosworthy is available for selection but Toni Kallio is ineligible owing to his signing being made too late for his inclusion.

On-loan defender Martin Taylor is likely to make his Watford debut, as could recent signing Stephen McGinn.

Winger Will Buckley will not feature as he has suffered a thigh strain, but striker Danny Graham is expected to be fit after a slight knee injury.

My 7th visit to Watford today

Be interesting to see the defensive line up after Nosworthy's signing and Walker being recalled. I don't think Fortune could cope with 4 games in 10 days so I'd say the back 5 will be...

Bunn, Geary, Nosworthy, Morgan, Stewart.

The full backs don't fill me with confidence at all to be honest :(

Daz, I think he might even play Nosworthy right back and keep Fortune in the centre.

My team would be:

------ Sticky Bunn

Del boy Nozza Morgs Stewart

Ward Williamson Harper Quinn

------- Cresswell Evans

I think we'll wijn this one regardless. It will be a scrappy affair and we'll grind out a result. Maybe 1-0 (or possibly 2-1).

See you in a few hours guys.

Good job the Kallio news is on this part of the board otherwise I can see more gnashing of teeth and wailing as all things SUFC are condemned to Hades an beyond in the General Blades section.
