I got to thinking this morning that given all our outgoings this year the squad looks really thin at the moment.

But that said we have a fair number of players that haven’t yet shown their full potential here yet

Now I’m not sure if that because they aren’t at the right level for us or they needed time to get used to the training and our style.

But

Leonard, Evans and Holmes were only bit parts last year given when they signed and will all have had a full pre-season. Holmes has shown flashes for chalrton he could be a player for us.

Lundstram got better as the season went on and again signed on with out a preseason with us last year.

Rhys norrington-Davies by all accounts has looked decent preseason. Could he do a brooks and play himself out of a loan and into the squad?

Good thread, although a "number of the above" option would have been good.

I'm personally confident we'll see the top four be integral this season, and it's too early to say on RND.

Good post.

I thought Evans did well last season but he just needs to cut the slack, showboating passes out and get fitter which is easily doable.

Not seen anything of Leonard yet to judge either way.

Same with Holmes.

Lundstram has some good attributes and will have a good season.

Norrington Davies will go on loan when all the signings are sorted out.

Im pretty certain Lundstram spends every minute he’s not training shagging Blades fans wives.

He is good and based on Flecks pre season think he will play allowing Fleck and Evans before It becomes Fleck and Coutts a little more freedom

I partially agree and I think he can be a big player for us. His only issue is that he's somewhat laxidasical on the ball from time to time. It doesn't help that he's such a big lad though.

I think Evans and particularly Lundstram can improve and really be assets going forward.

Norrington-Davies seems a prospect for the future.

Hope I'm wrong but I honestly don't see Leonard and Holmes having too much impact at this level and aren't going to improve imho.

Out of that list I'd predict that only Norrington-Davies will surprise us.

Leonard will probably be cover at the back, maybe make the bench to come on and steady things up if we're winning but under the cosh. Nowt fancy.

Evans is good but too untidy to be excellent.

Holmes is a trier but not much comes off which is a shame because I love his effort. Would be happy to be proved wrong on this one.

Lundstram does the occasional great pass/turn/tackle but usually passes to the other team or turns into trouble. I think they'll persevere with him but he won't get much better in that role. Still suffering from Coutts' shadow syndrome.

I think Nozzer-Dave will be our next Rolls Royce off the production line. Only seen him play once but he looked to have all the essentials for a good wing back. Seamus Coleman came to mind.

I'd say Norrington-Davies but he'll never get a chance because Stevens is too awesome.

If anybody, Leonard at RCB, but it's hard to see him getting in the team there as something would need to happen to Basham.

Lundstram and Evans will remain steady.

Holmes won't get a look in after we sign an attacking midfielder.

Norrington Davies keeps that level of performance up in training and in the glimpses he has to show coming on as a sub and in the cup (hopefully) him without a doubt. He’ll be our LWB by October.

It’s all a game of if’s though. He has to keep it up and Chris has to give him a chance over the less than impressive of late Enda Stevens. We’ve got nothing to lose there have we?

I voted Leonard, but that was more in hope than anything. It is a shame that of the January signings only Lee Evans has actually contributed

Evans is the only one I see being a starter for us, not convinced by any of the others yet. Worth one more year to look at, if they aren’t good enough, move them on.

Lundstram for me. Could be a great box-to-box for us. He was unlucky to be dropped when Evans came in.

Have a like for ‘Nozzer-Dave’

Think Holmes has played well from what ive seen of him pre-season.. big step up playing week in weekout though so hopefully he keeps it up!

I think they all will have a part to play - ND and RH as subs. I expect to see a lot of Lundstram and Evans, Leonard as RCB. All will get a decent chance in case of injuries and suspensions.

holmes.. better get the custard in. there are going to be huge portions of humble pie served.. just like with Couttsy ;)
