We'll fucking lose won't we.

Get real man, we are not going to loose this one, your bones are telling you fibs. Sit back and enjoy some Sheffield Footballing History
Hope the players don't think as arrogantly as this

It is the one game where the Pigs may turn up. The fans shouldn't assume this will be a walkover and we should make it as hostile an atmosphere as possible as possible.

My concern is that if we aren't two nil up at half time, some fans might start getting on our players' backs

Wilder will play 5 at the back 2 defensive midfielders Hoever and Hjelde onthe wings and Cannon as a lone striker, we can't lose

I've just whacked myself in the balls with a hammer. The swelling and pain hopefully will be gone by Sunday night, which will be some relief come Monday morning when it's all gone tits up.
A bit premature mate but I've got my vice cleaned and polished and ready for my nuts to be squashed late Saturday night.
I'll not sleep so may as well get some enjoyment out of it beforehand.......basterd Derbies.......

They've scored 1 goal in around 6 weeks so no attacking threat whatsoever. Not even a back arsed own goal from a corner.

I don't think they'll play dirty as it's a young inexperienced team but wouldn't surprise me if they get a red card.

If we didn't have Cov midweek I'd predict a 5-0 riot but Wilder will play it safe with a 1-0 high possession win and focus on the Cov game. Sunday takes care of itself and hopefully no injuries.

No we wont. We will win. But I really hate how some of our fans think its a foregone conclusion that we’ll hammer them.
never predict big wins , we arent as deluded as their 6 easy points forecasts , which theyve achieved once since wurld war 1 started
we will go out pumped up by Wilder and we have much better players, so form , stats and their xg 0.06 favours us

It's a game of football so 3 results are possible.

I am confident we will come out firing, as Wilder will not tolerate less in this fixture. But all it takes is a mistake at the back, or one good passage of play by them, or a bit of luck or a shit refereeing decision going their way, and we could find ourselves behind.

All things being equal though, we should have far too much. We have strengthened since we last hammered them, and they are even weaker.
Basically

Whatever ….,

If we can’t beat this pile of crap we may as well give up

They’re absolutely a disgrace to football and Sheffield

Bit conflicted with this I agree Wilder will likely have an eye on Coventry as overall it's more important but he's a stubborn bastard and I do think his ego will want to embarrass them. Am I right in thinking he's never lost to them? This could be the last time he plays them as manager of United and if he can stick a relegated nail in that history he'll like have a right touch on for it.

Besides as most have said, their defence will probably look a lot like the first mainline depot at knocking off time so could be plenty of shooting practice for Hamer, he loves an in swinging shot from that top left of the box. Go for it.

Weirdly I too have the apprehension though, I've strolled in to the Lane and some away grounds plenty of times with the idea "should be 3 points all day this" and walked out wondering what the fuck happened 🤣

It's been 28 games since the swine won a match. I expect us to win this, but there are no certainties in a Sheffield Derby.

Approach this game in the right way, tactically, effort, high and persistent pressing and they will come unstuck. They may hang on for a 'famous' draw or they may sneak a win with an unlikely goal or bad referree's decision.

As long as we go at it mentally focussed from the first minute, we will triumph.

They will sit back the entire game and hope to hit us on the break. If they come out and play then I can see us having 20+ goal attempts. We have far too much for them if they go toe to toe.

I don't like Derby games like most fans, but I'm hoping this one is different.

The trapdoor to Leauge one is wide open so let's hope that we are the ones to ram them through it!

Everyone gets more nervous when it's a derby game, but all those going over the top with negativity, what did you forecast before the game earlier this season at Hillsborough which should be a more difficult fixture?
We were completely dominant and without a doubt should have won by more and of course their squad is much weaker now.
Be nervous it's natural but come on we without a doubt should win by three goals, I'm just looking forward to Jimmy Fleck and Anston blades predictions, I reckon even those two will show some confidence and go with a 1-2 loss.

Aye, we only have to look back a few weeks to the Charlton game to see how a seemingly winnable game can turn.

I’ve seen us batter them but come away with a draw or a defeat more times than I care to remember.

They may be crap but anything is possible in football. Look at Macclesfield beating Palace the other week. This is the effectively the last competitive game of the season for their players…..get something positive out of this game (a defeat of less than 3 goals or better) and they can happily down tools without any grief from their fans…in fact they will probably get a statue. They have nothing to lose and need to be wary of that.

“Avenging Boxing Day” and all that is nonsense. Just get the job done.

I didn’t expect to win in such resounding fashion at their place given the team was in such a fragile state at that time with the uptick in form having only just started. It also surprised me just how bad they were, and how little effort they put in.

We are a much more robust unit now so a win should be assured but strange things can happen in football and if their manager has anything about them he should have them fired up at least.

I’d just hate to be in a position where the fans go into the game taking it for granted that we’ll win big and get on the players backs if that doesn’t happen.

Just take the 3pts and move on tbh. Relegating them would be chefs kiss but make sure you do the business first.

No chance we lose. They are dreadful. The weakest Wednesday team in history. Equally they will fight & try & sit very deep and nullify us, so I don’t expect a 5-0 win either. Think it’ll be a war of attrition - probably end up 2-0…..because even if we score early I doubt they will come out and attack us.

This is the exact reason I don't reckon we'll hammer them.

Normally even if a side comes into the game wanting to keep it tight if they concede an early goal they'll usually have to try and get back into the game by having a bit of a go and therefor opening up more gaps so a thrashing becomes a possibility.

This utter shower of crap have only one goal and that is not getting an absolutely pasting which means even if were to get a couple of early goals they still won't open up at all meaning the pasting is less likely.

It's not impossible as they are beyond woeful but my guess would be maybe a couple up before half time and maybe get another in the second half.

That being said, even under the circumstances, it would probably be my greatest day ever following us if we stuck 7, 8 or 9 past them.

Why is Coventry more important? If we beat them, we only get 3 points, same as when we beat the pigs.

Spot on. There is nothing to avenge, it’s a result that happened nearly half a century ago! If anyone is still a bit miffed about that the should give their head a hit of a wobble!

My worry is what happens if we have a rush of blood or two and suddenly find ourselves a couple of players down. I can’t believe Wednesday will go the rest of the season without another win, and I would hate us to be the ones to hand it to them!

They certainly will. We were close to full strength
In what world were we close to full strength against Mansfield? We made 10 changes from the side which beat Leicester for the Mansfield game and then another 10 for the next game against Charlton. No player started all three, Soumaré started against Leicester and Mansfield; Arblaster started against Mansfield and Charlton.

I'd hazard a guess that only two players who started against Mansfield will start on Sunday (in bold) - Burrows, by virtue of McCallum being out injured, and Hamer, who's played himself into form. Three of the other 9 came on as subs against Mansfield (in italics; Brooks, Seriki & Bamford), 6 were either not here (Phillips), unused subs (Bindon) or not in the squad at all (Cooper, Tanganga, Peck, O'Hare).

*McGuinness played the three matches when Tanganga was banned and has been an unused sub since
^Mee played two-and-a-half matches following Bindon's concussion against Charlton
^Burrows has played almost all the minutes since current first-choice McCallum was injured against Millwall
