Personally, I find his "Must win at all costs" attitude uncomfortable. He does not understand the word dignity, and his comments often show a lack of respect for opposing managers and teams
Maybe being from the wrong side of Sheffield (Stocksbridge) is the reason for this?
Everybody wants to win, so did John Harris. Say no more!
You’re obviously not much of a Blade and haven’t been paying attention.
When we lost to Norwich last season, he made a point about he was NOT a “win at any costs” kind of manager like Daniel Farke seemed to be with his gamesmanship and extreme time wasting tactics. He’s often said he doesn’t mind losing as long as we’re positive and give it a go. Even when we win, if he things United have been coasting he’ll sometimes criticise the team.
Remember last season away at Leeds, we won but he was still critical of our performance.
After the Derby match, his point was we might have played great football dominating Derby in the 1st half but it counted for nothing.
He actually praised Lampard but wasn’t happy with our 2nd half performance.
Personally think it’s good that he sets such high standards, regardless of the result.
