Basham outstanding, quality goal from Sharp. Too much passing backwards again but we looked more of a threat at times. Really good to have a Sheffield double at last.
Scored a good goal, nearly scored another one even better just after it... I wouldn't describe it as entertaining more ground out a win against a poor Port Vale , but at least there was effort and balls shown today.
Basham absolutely outstanding ,Sharp very good ,as was Hammond shame that dick of a ref put the reins on him. Like to see Coutts in for either Reed ,Flynn or Woolford. Like the system ,Harris would be suited to Woolfords role ,and Flynn could push Brayford for his.
Still some of the indecision and square passes across the back earlier on, but then they started to click a bit and get the ball forward more quickly, Basham played a part in that but also thought Reedy got stuck in and played well. Che's work rate was excellent, tracked back a hell of a lot as well. Not bad all in all. Few boos when Coutts came on, totally unnecessary.
Che's control and distribution as well as his drive was great today with none of the going to ground stuff, hopefully he can push on and exploit the fantastic talent he has.
Billy's goal was aq quality finishing at any level from Hammond's only forward pass of his match. Brilliant to see Flo play again for his sake and played well when he came on. I hope he can keep it up, fingers crossed for him
Quality strike from Billy, Bash top man, George confident & dominant, good outing for Flo (keep it up), Che brighter, Hammond provided Billy with the ball for the goal with his only forward ball in his game
Vast improvement on Tuesday. If we up the tempo we up the crowd. Bash, Billy and Che did well. My one reservation is that a team with decent wingers/ attacking full backs would destroy us if we played that system. 3points and a clean sheet. Just what we needed
Bash was MOTM. Che worked back which was pleasing. Reed still has loads to learn about decision making.
Sharp showed his passion again. Woolford looks so lost at times.
