The only table that matters to us this season ...

I do hope that in 10 games you’re not reduced to saying “in 1990-1 we got 4 points from the first 16 games and still stayed up”

I'm not saying United won't be in the bottom 5, I'm saying with over 30 games to play it way too early to know who is definitely going to be in a relegation battle. The bottom 5 might stay as the bottom 5 all season but it would be unprecedented as far as I can remember.

Burnley have played 4 matches. Writing them off as certs for bottom 5 is maaaaaaad

There have been at least 40 similar and smaller clubs that have pissed all over us in terms of average performance and achievement over at least three generations

Bury don't even warrant a mention, they are nowhere close to being of similar size.

The difference between us and all of those clubs is that they tried to achieve something and eventually failed, but only after having a decent rum of relative success.

United never had success, they have never even tried.

Every twenty years or so we stumble across a manager that seems to be able to get the best out of the shit, or at best average that's at his disposal.

And that's as good as it gets, and as good as it's ever going to get for us.

The fans of all those other clubs dream of something better because they've witnessed it before.

Our fans dream of nothing, but we still have the support of just as many as all those other clubs, and a lot more than most of them. That's what makes them remarkable in these particular times.

The only reason we are still a reasonably biggish name in English football has been because of the fans.

It's certainly got nothing to do with what the club has done or tried to do
We've had no success...........

We've had 5 play off finals . Not won any but got there 2000 to 2010 we were constant top 10 championship challenging every year
Been automatically promoted twice to the prem
Got to 4 semi finals as a lower division club

Name me another small club that's done that
Even our 6 seasons in league one we were top 6 4 times

Blackburn
Birmingham
Bolton
Cardiff
Coventry
Charlton
Crystal Palace
Forest
Fulham
Leeds
Middlesbrough
Norwich
Portsmouth
Swansea
Stoke
Sunderland
Watford
West Brom
Wednesday
Wolves

In my lifetime all these teams have done better than us.

They've all either had more seasons in the Premier League than us, played in Europe or reached a major cup final.

But how many times have they lost in a play-off final?!

So your saying you'd rather had their past 40 years that ours

Bolton in div 4 now and skint

Coventry with no ground

Swansea who had 20 seasons in div 4

Wednesday because of 1 league cup in 80 years.

Portsmouth who overspent and ruined their club talling it to div 4

Norwich who get relegated more than any other club

You'd swap us for Sunderland just now

Charlton. You fancy their current financial state or the fact they lost 9the valley for a decade

Wolves have been in div 3 longer than us

Fulham long spell in div 4

Leeds 18 years outside the prem

You forget all the bad times these clubs have had

Birmingham won the league cup then were relegated 2 month later

I certainly wouldnt swap any of the 20 you put for us

Not that long ago that Burnley survived on the last day to stay in the league.
Most clubs other than the top 10 prem have had their share of dark days

Man city scraped out of div 3 .only 20 years ago after being outplayed by gillingham

Forest were lucky to get Clough but are struggling again in a long spell in the championship

I enjoyed all the Bassett years
I enjoyed the John Harris years and now I'm loving our rise under Wilder

We've had dark days but there's very few who haven't

And there's plenty struggling to stay alive
We've never had that

I feel we really shouldn't be happy with a defeat against Liverpool. Still only one goal from open play in 6 games. Please watch the video to see how I think we can fix this. Thanks all the best Gozza.

Course it is! Brighton beat West Brom tomorrow and they go above Man U. Does that mean they are safe and Man U are in danger? Burnley have only played 4 matches!

A year to the day Southampton lost 9-0 to Leicester and were 2nd bottom. They finished 11th. After 6 games last season Bournemouth were mid table, we only had 2 wins.
I bet you will be watching our little league results tonight tho ;)

With Burnley v Chelsea and Us v Man City this weekend, WBA may well be in the position of knowing that a win for them at Fulham on Monday night will mean that the bottom 3 will be 2 results from being able to escape the relegation zone. Already.

You forgot to show the points at this stage last year ? is that because the bottom club Watford have more points than us now at the same stage , so we would have been rock bottom with our points total from this year last year , like I said dream on .

Why are we up against Watfords tally from last season or are we up against those around us this season?

Asking for a friend.

Conversely, man Utd will know if they lose and we win we will only be 1 win behind them
