Once a Blade, always a Blade? - Where are they now?

Excellent stuff. Running parallel to this, how's about Ex Blades who have finished playing and have other jobs/businesses and such ?

Danny Batth had the shortest Blades career of all time.

Only played once when he came on as a substitute for about 30 seconds in injury time.

As a striker...a 1-0 win v Swansea just before Xmas on a snowy day at the Lane. Chef scored.

Jake Eastwood on loan at Scunny as well. That 6 players with a Blades connection this season representing SUFC.

How about a sub-category: former players now managing?

To start:
Chris Wilder: Sheffield United
Brian Deane: KF Ferizaj (also co-owner)
Curtis Woodhouse: Tadcaster Albion

Can't believe Jon Stead is not playing in the EFL?, surely still good enough (admittedly at 36 years of age) for League 2?

David Edgar - loan defender, playing at Forge FC in Canada

Paddy Kenny - playing for Maltby Main

Luton Shelton - Jon Stead's strike partner in the Man City "Balloon" game, looks like he is still at Harbour View, Jamaican team.

Brian Howard plays for Whitehawk FC (semi pro club in Brighton)

And people wondered why we struggled for so many years in league 1 when a chunk of our first team is playing non league.

Cant believe where DDG ended up. Think that's 8th tier of english football

A definitive and probably inaccurate guide to where ex SUFC players are now playing

I love the stuff Roygbiv does and I know he does a view from on both new players we sign and also on players who go out on loan or sometimes even have left us for good. I also admire and follow the work from Ball_Sup and his ‘firm’ in terms of following young squads and players.

Following on from that, I was looking at all the different transfers up and down the land and I was surprised to see where many former Blades actually are now plying their trade.

It got me thinking to see if I could track all the former Blades (why I have no idea) and so I started a list…..please add to this list as sure I have forgot some obvious ones

I have not counted players previously on loan with SUFC as that would double the list below but have noted some at the end of each division. I have counted players we currently have that have gone out on loan.

I’m keeping an eye on the newly-established Canadian Premier League which has started this year from scratch. It only has 7 teams split over 5 provinces, and Forge FC, based in Hamilton Ontario just announced a new signing yesterday...

Edit: see Grappler already flagged this.

Edit edit: and has now flagged this to me.

This should be a sticky thread that’s kept up to date.

It’s magic.

I’m looking forward to 10 years time when Real Madrid, Barca, PSG etc are on the list!
