The Queen wasn't the only one celebrating her 90th this week, Billy Sharp made his 90th start for us. He had a poor game by his standards, but it's good that we are seeing the real Billy Sharp third time round. Hopefully next season his goals will lead us to promotion.

Billy also puts a shift in, he will still be one of our biggest players for next season. Most of his goals this season have been due to his own endurance, lets hope he gets alot more support from midfield next time around, who knows how many he could score.

It's a shame for him that he's scored twenty in a side that regularly gets booed off the pitch.
Ched Evans scored 29 (league goals), we had a few more scorers that season as well... We still didn't go up...

Perhaps the fans realise that as a team we've been shite this year. Despite a striker having a decent season.

I'm not saying the team as a whole haven't been awful. Sharp's a player who everyone wants to do well for us, he's had a very good season, and I'm saying that with regards to him as an individual, it's a shame that we haven't had a chance to celebrate his return.

Swiss , we have been more than shite and still need convincing that Adkins will not make us more shite or less shite next season.

Guillotine for the Queen; big gold statue of Billy right outside the Town Hall. In an ideal world.

I appreciate what you’re saying, however I don’t think Billy has been a superstar this year by any stretch. He’s performed well in games and no denying it, when I saw him at the start of the season I thought there was no way that he would get 20 goals, even with Penalties. In that respect he has surpassed some of my expectation. However, he has also played his part in this shambolic season. Can he be proud of his season? From an Attitude, commitment and goal scoring perspective I’d say yes. However, as a team I don’t think anyone at the club can walk around with their heads held high this year.

You’ll get no argument from me on that. How on earth we have managed to get so close to the end of the season and still mathematically have a glimmer of hope to reach the play offs shows how awful this league has also been. Its one thing that Phipps was right on. As for Adkins, I truly hope that he holds his hands up and admits that some of his actions, lack of action and decisions contributed to such an awful season as well. At the same time, I also think that, despite it taking a long time to figure out, he has started to address some of those issues.

We don’t know for sure who it was that instigated the Billy signing, I’m sure McCabe will have been involved and of course Adkins will have had his say, however whilst the 20 goals has been a real saviour for Adkins, I am still not convinced that Billy Sharp was the striker we needed if we were intending to play a loan striker for large parts of the season.

A huge failing of Adkins’ has been masked by Billy’s 20 goals, but there is no denying, he’s not a target man and that’s how he’s played the season until we found that 3-5-2 worked better with Billy and Che.

If there was an inquest last season, I’d hate to see how this end of season meeting goes.

I don't understand why signing one particular player (crap as he may be) would finish anyone supporting (and attending) the team you'd supported all your lives.
Unless of course, it's just a look at me flounce? :)
i mentioned it somewhere else but i will reiterate
paradoxically it has nothing to do with Dean Hammond the individual. it does however shed light on the fact that if he is re-signed then it is proof if any were necessary that Adkins doesn't know what he is doing and neither do the board. As a result i'll be happy to sit next year out .. if i can do it :)

You'll be there SP! :-)

Aye, & why weren't twats like this organising a clean-up in Sheff for Billy's 90th?

(Still got a sore back from all that graft I put in making S14 pristine in honour of Her Madge btw.)
Is that Michael Gove?
