White Hart Lane all over again. He's not appealing for anything this time but it's just as ridiculous.

The only possible thing I can think of is that he thinks he's heard the whistle go for something, so he's retrieving the ball to bring it down for the stoppage. He's clearly watching the ball and he's seen the cross so he knows no foul has been committed, but maybe it's just instinct to stop play if you hear (or think you've heard) the whistle go?

I'm clutching at straws here because I'm baffled. Maybe he's put the family jewels on Shrews to score first because it's likely that he's getting a right bastard of a pay cut next season.

Hope that's not the case, for his sake! :D

maybe he's hoping to get into GB beach volleyball team - trip to Rio - summer on the beach - I've never seen anything like it

This needs investigating immediately. It's 10x worse that the Fashanu incidents v Wimbledon all those years ago. This is as suspicious as anything I've ever seen on a football pitch.

I immediately thought of that Wimbledon game when I saw that clip.

It isn't 10 x worse, it's very similar. In the Fashanu case, the second one was so blatant and so much like the first one, the ref never even gave it, almost as though he thought he was seeing things. I hope you're wrong about it being suspicious, surely any kind of betting scam would be a bit more subtle than that these days?

I'm still baffled as to why it wasn't a red card.
Handball is only a yellow maximum, if someone handles it on the line and is sent off, it is for `denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity`, not handball.

That is why keepers sometime handle it outside the box, and only receive a yellow.

Wow what a fool, he has been playing better recently but thats just idiotic of him, should have got rid of him last season, and moments like that are just a reminder of what a fool Clough was to extend his contract and what a fool Adkins is for handing him the captiancy.

The ref should have taken into account that he is as thick as pig shit.

Acts that we take for granted like putting shoes on the correct feet, drinking without dribbling and not grabbing a football during a game if you aren't the keeper are all major challenges to utter cretins.

If morons wore a special badge or armband then the ref would be able to factor in their retardation and cut them a bit more slack.

All seems rather unfair.

i think that should be investigated for betting patterns. it is absolutely blatant. while they are at it they can investigate Jags as well.

I hate saying it but that was the first thing I thought as well. As blatant as Fashanu against us for Wimbledon all those years ago, who gave away a pen with his hand and did the best to give a second away too.

My theory is that he will be offered a new contract but will also be our reserve goalkeeper - goalie wag if long gets injured at any time next season - and he was just getting some practice in/showing Adkins what he can do.

Very similar to when John Fashanu blatantly tried to give away 2 penalties following a Vinnie Jones throw in back in 1991 (One was given and then the ref decided not to give the second even though it was blatant)

He was being lifted up from behind. Then obviously the upward motion causes a strike of the ball by the trailing hand. Nothing you can do about that.
