stead should have been on in front of sharp.
Stead has scored for us this season and looked more deadly. Sharp hasnt done much. It wasnt the right tactics for sharp, we need to hit the box for him and we just wasnt doing that.

Not been given much chance to be fair though
not been playing to his strengths for him to do anything.
he feeds off balls to him in the box, today we just passed it around and never really pounded the box with balls. stead could have come on and maybe had more of a chance of changing the game.
baring in mind he still had one sub left he could have took monty off, webber out wide and stead up front and thrown the kitchen sink at em.
Its been along time since ive seen shit performances like that at the lane.

I'd have preffered Stead to come on instead of Tonge who seemed(I use this term loosely) to be on the right.

If we are going to pay all that for him, then maybe we should try and play to his strengths. He could score goals a plenty for us if things suited him.
Same for Beattie really, i don't think we suit him, except he has little bit more quality to do things himself.

By the look of things we're not playing to any body's strengths, except maybe the opposition's.
Exactly; it's not rocket science, we just arent creating clear cut chances so we could have the best strikers in the world up front and they would struggle to score goals.
I keep hearing mutterings of 'Beatie's lost interest' and 'Sharp is out of his depth' but the fact is that until we start actually creating some openings for our forwards they will not score. This is not a reflection of their ability or attitude but yet another indication that our midfield is not doing its job.

Definition shows as "unpredictable or unproven element".
I wouldn't define Sharp as being unpredictible, he has also proven that he is not cutting it at this level.

i wasnt using it in that context...i was using him as a, hmmmm well now that i think about it i did not use it in the right context...but even so, i wouldnt have said before the match or even at half time, he would put him on, and yet again, perhaps robbo thought he would have been a super sub...who knows, hes a good player, i think he should play him more

How many times did he start at the beginning of the season? 3, it has to be enough for a striker to make some sort of impact and at least look like scoring which he never has! Ok bring morecambe into it but thats a complete different game! He's made appearances as a sub and still done nothing!
Stead has scored and even when not scoring looks creative, can run at people and put a good ball in, so he can play as a striker or out wide, and also has a great first touch!
I would personally start him every week, but fans chanting for billy sharp to come on is crazy when we have a player like stead going to waste on the bench who not only scores goals but can create them!

Agreed Tino, I think everyone wants to see Sharp score because he is a blade, but at the same time i think people would prefer to be playing someone who looks dangerous and if that means he's left out.
Stead should be brought back into the first team for Tuesday IMO

Playing Sharp makes sense, on a wet ground a ball in the box should be a good target for a poacher - didn't work. Stead should replace Keith. He is faster, can beat a man and can cross the ball. Keith right now is a floater as are most of his crosses.

No way did it make sense!
It was obvious that wasnt the sort of football we were playing!
We were lofting into the box from all angles very rarely saw a cross go along the ground!
Stead should be upfront is a massive handful!

I have to agree with Tino here.
With the tactics at the moment Sharp is never going to get a chance at all. All we will do is make him look worse than he is.
Stead should be given a go on the right to see if it improves matters.
He can hold the ball, beat a man, cross a ball and can score.
I'd still stick with Beattie and Webber in the middle......although both were pretty poor at the weekend IMO.

Everytime Webber got ball, Argyle seemed to swamp him off the ball.
