seem to recall he was technically sound but not athletic enough to cope with the rigours of 2nd tier football. Think he spent a while out injured as well. Not unlike Florent Cuvelier.

Was that was around 03/04?

Yeah. We bought some Portuguese/Brazilian/whatever superstar and the next thing he's off to Leeds on an 'undisclosed' and they offered us a friendly. I seem to recall it was Ribiero or someone like him.

So, let me get this right. You have our player for a nominal, and we charge the fans to watch a match of no consequence to help pay for it, which could result in a raft of ugly injuries prior to the season starting?

It's the Blades Way.

Sounds about right for us signing some cunt 2.5 stone over weight and blowing all our transfer budget on him. Did we have the same 'transfer directors board' then?

Oh sorry no I forgot we had the best Director Of Football we've ever had Derek Dooley at the club .

Are you really getting angry at Dooley for a transfer that never came to fruition?! ha ha. Remember they didn't actually spend 2.5 million on him, that never actually happened.

At training Warnock wanted our players to pass the ball in front of their teammates rather than straight to their feet. Ribeiro had a disagreement with him insisting that he always wants to receive passes straight to his feet. Then Ribeiro was on his way out of the club

I'm sure that's true, however in Warnock's book he reveals that the reason he eventually got rid was that Ribeiro refused to go on an end of season tour to Trinidad. Warnock warned him to go otherwise he'd get fined the maximum the club could fine a player and Ribeiro simply paid it. Warnock's view being that if that was his attitude, then his future lay elsewhere.
