this may be clutching at straws but I can't help thinking that If several ex blades players / legends got together and went to see the board it surely would hit home.

Players that epitomise what was once good about Sheffield United. Players who had fire in the belly . People who actually know about the game and therefore can easily diagnose what is needed in this club. They understand what playing for Sheffield United means.

there is nothing to suggest any currently involved at board or first team manager level actually knows

I am sure that a consortium of the like of Edwards, badger, Hemsley, Deane , Agana , holdsworth ...( all mentioned because they have respect down at the lane and are still regularly seen down there ) ...would be able to get the point across to the board what's wrong. I don't mean to create a sack the manager campaign .. I mean to ensure that there is a football based plan , incoming players fit a profile , we have an identity , a style of play etc etc

Surely the board would listen ???

Maybe clutching at straws like I say but has anyone got any better ideas ??

Have you not been paying attention ?

Mcabe/prince/board don't actually give a fuck we are where we are, what you're suggesting wouldn't matter a jot.

It's the same as the fans getting all in a lather about matters, there's always some patronising cunt to come on here and make us thankful for having a club to support.

Want to do something productive ? Turn up at the lane and boo your dissatisfaction at the board/players.

I follow kev gage on Twitter And Facebook and he talks some real sense.

His views on United, despite (I think) currently being employed by the club on match days, have been very brutal but fair.

Got to give him kudos for his England views and players football boots

Yeah I follow him to he's quite scathing of the Blades, as Dane Whitehouse is on Facebook. Derek French seems to also share similar views of the majority on Twitter also. As I allude to above though no one at the club actually gives a toss.

Just found a picture of our new Chinese investor clutching at Straw.

What and one be named leader Witch Hunter General.

Like Morgan did with Clough .

Didn't help Adkins or would it help the manager who replaced him.

Also some of them players you named aren't going to bite the hand that helps to feed them .

McCabe will have IMO already decided what he is going to with Adkins , and if he stays or goes we have to respect his decision , because either way I think it will be made with a heavy heart. Results may still play a big part even though in reality we haven't really anything to play for , with clutching at straws for a play off spot .

Got time for Keith Edwards , but don't think the club has because he doesn't tow the line . Politics at the lane , you would never believe it .

It is quite unforgivable what that snake Morgan did - only after he left did he speak up that he was unhappy with the sackings.

Also failing to point out to Adkins our weaknesses last June

I hope this thread is a wind up otherwise it's one of the most stupid things I've ever read.

I think there is something in what you say. It is important that those involved actually understand the culture of our club and I would be in favour of the next manager having that understanding.

Bladey Bladey is a criticism I have never understood.

I know warnock is not popular with many but to get him back for a year, or even Blackwell, just to stop the rot would be a step in the right direction IMO.

Call him one to his face, I am sure it could be arranged for a price?

Jack_Straw_thats_w_3208149c.jpg

That fee cost would be a one off speech which IMO is reasonable and the going rate , therefore value for money.

Adkins has a 3 year contract for god knows how much for giving theses motivational , positive , confusing , buzzword speeches pre and post match , every match.

Speeches from Adkins abysmal and unconvincing like our performances on the pitch since Gillingham.

Blair years , Adkins year.

UTB.

We already have one there, Brian Deane.

Lovely bloke , a real gentleman . At the lane and may already have the ear of McCabe . May have more balls than hard man Morgan , who didn't do himself or the club any good . Great players do not always make great managers , coaches , or have intellegant ideas or conversation.

Scott and Simon McCabe are getting more and more involved and they ain't no mugs or fools them two . Also they already have the ear of past players who are not connected directly to the club already . So in a way your good idea is already in process and no doubt being fed back to Kevin McCabe .

What do Scott and Simon do?

Ultimately those at the top have took us to where we are today. Who are these players you refer to?

why do you say that please ?

What are expecting? Billy Whitehurst to chin McCabe whilst Wally Downes holds him down?

McCabes group don't give a shit about us who are here now, and why are they going to listen to ex players who the Princes' camp have never heard of?

They don't listen to us because we are fans and most have not played the game on a pro level. The type of people I mention know the game , are well respected at the club, have the ear of the board ( half still work there ) . My point is there is no football knowledge in there at the minute and surely that's what we need?? I did say clutching at straws

Well I agree we need a football man on the board.

Personally I can't see us doing anything under the current leadership of The McCabes and the Invisible Prince. We need a buy out by a serious investor, and that is a million miles off.

Scott and Simon are true blades and follow united home and away with wives and kids in tow at some matches . They are / will get more and more involved with the management and stewardmanship of Al thing SUFC as Kevin MCabe decides to take a back seat .

Ex players Michael Brown , Robert Page do have a voice along with the Secret Footballer . Having a voice does not mean they would be management material , same as IMO Chris Wilder wouldn't be .

Adkins does need to shake his coaching staff up , and having a couple of ex blades as coaches , may certainly help the situation . Not job for the boys but bringing improvement , ethos to the table - thought John Pemberton . James Beattie.

Hmmmm, so it IS Dave Kitson then!

Oh great more years of the Mcabes to come

Holdsworth - DOF

Maybe, in fact hopefully, they'd rock up and say something like: Mr McCabe I used to play for this great club and I really like Adkins' vision. Don't listen to the rabble rousers I reckon Positive Nige is the answer. Steady as she goes.
