I was told a few weeks back mr McCabe is still looking for a buyer for SUFC who is willing to fund the building of an out of town stadium.

Would there be a way to apply for listed status for the ground to stop this happening? Eg it must always be a football stadium as we know none of the buildings are architectural masterpieces. But I know things have been listed in this manner in the past and as the oldest professional sporting venue in the country I would have thought it was something worth preserving

Not many people know that the south stand is a fine example of the late brutalist architecture movement, many of which qualify for grade ll listing.Notable examples in the city include the park hill flats and the crucible theatre.
In the last couple of decades, cladding on the exterior has softened its appearance, but if you see an early photo from the 70's,you will see what is meant by brutalist.

Bit pointless getting that planning permission extension for the Kop then wasn't it.

I can't see a move ever happening. Board has already said that they won't be realistically looking at any stadium improvements until we're at least in The Championship as the attendances don't justify the outlay. So why would they consider spending 10 times as much building a new stadium?

We're probably still paying off the Westfield corner anyway.

this news we are looking for an investor to move us to a new stadium

where is the link , just out of interest

will there be heated seats

SUFC are moving to a new stadium , but of the Scunthorpe variety, has that led to the story
why would mccabe insist on us moving if hes selling up,why would it bother him

Still a ruddy eyesore though. I've often thought they should paint the remaining concrete parts between the red and white cladding black like the classic shirt.

Any photoshop experts able to show how that would look?

At the rate we are going, we will be looking for someone to fund a couple of Speight's removal vans to help us move down to Dronfield and share with Sheffield Club.

Sheffield Club are apparently happy for us to ground share but we have to build two new dugouts, pay for a car park barrier and the council want us to contribute to half a dozen drop kerbs and a bit of white line painting at the junction.

There will be luxury heated seats (solar that is........)

Quite easy that - hope that helps?

cant move to Derbyshire, its not on

Ah, I presume this has been looked into before then

I think a few people have looked at it, but all it practically does is offer the community group first dibs on buying the stadium with only six weeks to raise the required capital. It doesn't prevent the stadium being sold.

Cos he owns the freehold and would make a fortune turning BDTBL into flats...

so , your premise is he just sells the club , with no ground , how much will that generate with no assetts about 2 quid

only selling the ground with the club would make it a viable option

McCabe is getting old and old people generally downsize. Welcome to the new 10,000 all seater 4th tier Cantors stadium (makes your house into a home).

Yes because there is a massive demand, what with there being no flats anywhere near, like on London Road or Shoreham Street and none being built in the new 'China Town'.

There also none at the Leadmill bus garage or on the old Lavers timber yard and the ones in Park Hill up at £100k are selling like hot cakes. They only have a few hundred left and then the rest of the block to do.

That McCabe, eh!

I didn't say that at all. There is very little value in the club on its own.

this deed thing about mccabe , it really baffles me why some people think mccabe wants to seell the club , for virtually nothing so he can rob the land

it really is the most idiotic conspiracy theory in football, , if as mccabe insists hes a blade ,who depending on who you believe has poured 50 to 80 million into sheff utd would he sell the club for nothing to profit from the land leaving his club who he supports like we do to crumble, really , any other fan on here youd dessert your team to let it fall apart ,,, really

This is my general train of thought, cant imagine whatever he allegedly wants to build on that land generating more income than BDTBL.

I think this is the reason no one has bought us yet, cause it's only the football side he wants to sell, like you said buying us only makes sense if your buying the lot

In theory you could build 100's of apartments on the site, which is in a prime city centre location, the value would be in the 100's of millions, gold dust to any property developer

But by not being able to by the ground as well as the club, surely km is making sure that no one else can do what he's being accused of.

'Beautiful out of town Tinsley' doesn't have a ring to it, 'Beautiful downtown china town Bramall lane' does to McCabe.

That's fantasy not theory.

Planning permission for the Kop renewed, new pitch. Doesn't make sense.

well a new ground would cost around 60 million for a 35000 seater to replace what we have , add that to the 40 million or so to clear the site and build the dwellings , the profit sort of dwindles

There are already plans for China Town development. Nothing to do with McCabe.
