First half, just about adequate with some occasionally pleasing football against a side that were poorer, if possible, than Oldham were.

Second half we played as though spiked with rohipnol at HT. No ball retention, lethargic pressing (especially on the edge of our box, again), second to second-balls, misplaced passes, just awful apart from two or three minute spells where we didn't exactly wake up so much as yawn and stretch a bit.

Minuses: Bad lapses of concentration defensively. Vulnerable, always, down our right side--don't think three CHs helps with this. Countless opportunities missed to ping the ball into their box, against at least one centre half who played like he had a deal with some third rate American club lined up for next week. Hammond is getting worse, and looked a player at least two divisions above his powers today. George's distribution. The twat a couple of rows behind screaming anti-Adko invective for another ninety six minutes.

Pluses (some of which might be retracted after seeing their goals again): McGahey. Flynniesta. Billy. Done's pace, only sporadically on show today. JMac. Decent goals !

Of all the nippers I think Whiteman maybe has most potential. *Could* be the creativity we need. Need to see more but so far so good.

One of those games where you lose all momentum, the opposition change it up and you're clinging on when you should've been out of sight.

We took our foot of the gas in another recent home game.

I thought first half was how Adkins wants us to play eg McGahey picking it up even under some pressure and carrying it forwards.

We were playing through the thirds, we just weren't sticking it in one end.

It's becoming ridiculous how many chances we miss.

I think there are reasons to he cheerful but we need to cope much better when teams.come at us.

And our rhs is some kind of clearway.

In the games I've seen McGahey's aerial ability is not great. Did some good things today but poor in the air I thought.

Thought he had very little to do for most of the second half today--again with caveat that I need to see their goals again. But I thought he won several really solid defensive headers first half ? I might be guilty of bigging him up simply because he didn't turn in the car crash performance I expected :)

A good summing up, the first half was as one sided as you are ever going to get, everyone played their part, 4-0 would have been right.

The only negative of the first half was the tumbleweed atmosphere, think the majority were waiting for a few misplaced passes, so they could vent their spleen.

Can't deny we were poor second half, Crewe over ran us, but credit the character to win the game a second time, after seemingly throwing it away. A superb goal, with a nice bonus, a section of fans missed it, when they showed their true Blade colours, by leaving after Crewes leveller.

Adkins got his usual stick, one cretin even shouting 'fuck off Adkins', when he looked behind the dugout to the crowd, after a needless Coutts foul.

The only thing that matters, is we won, against a side who do well against us.

Yeah, I heard that. Accompanied by "fucking garbage Adkins". Think we were still 2-1 up at that point. Adkins eyeballed him for a good long while. Thought he was going to "do a Megson" for a moment.
