Car Park Protests?

think its after match protest.....

The last car park protest I recall was after we lost to Ipswich on a cold rainy night. Then club was being screwed by Mike MacDonald and Charles Green. Now it's in profit, and we've spent money wisely. just because the manager hasn't had the start to the season we all wanted isn't a good enough reason to all stand bitching outside after the match.

Most 'Fans' do that even if we win!

if you're gunna protest against you club, your not a Blade...end of

I can not describe how completely and utter aweful this idea is

Wednesdah may go above us...but jeeeeeesus what about the fact that watford are top of the table..doesnt that bother you more that we should be there, and goin down and protestin against em to make em do better is a no brainer to me

For fucks sake

Why, because we don't want to us playing against the likes of hartlepool on a cold tuesday night. Because we don't want to see the club ruined by the idiot in charge.

You don't seem to understand, we are NOT protesting against the club.

We would be protesting against the the manager.

How can you possibly define someone not being a blade because they are upset at how we are doing?

Why, because we don't want to us playing against the likes of hartlepool on a cold tuesday night.

Don't want to, but the test would be how many people would turn up to Hartlepool on a cold Tuesday night?

I'd hazard a guess that the people who want the best for the club would support them through thick and thin... not have a hissy fit and start throwing scarves around.

Would the reactionaries answer me a few questions?

1) Do you think Bryan Robson tells the players not to kick a ball properly? Or pass? And forget everything that comes naturally to professional footballers, some of whom were performing well in the Premiership last year?

The problem to me lies much deeper than the manager... and points at a team lacking confidence in their own abilities and a manager who is being made to doubt his abilities unable to change things in the position he is in.

2) How does booing help the team? Bryan Robson is an ex-England captain... do you think he can't see that the performances at the moment aren't good enough? Like with NW, what he says to the press and what he says to the team in private may be completely different thing. I would guess that he is more entitled to judge the performance of the team than a set of fans who have no experience of the football world... further than a couple of games of football manager.

3) How does booing help the business? Kevin McCabe is a businessman and a very successful one at that. Who are you to tell him how to run his empire? Isn't it in his best interests to have a successful product? Do you think he cares less than you do about what happens to the club? You invest a few Saturdays and a few hundred pounds a year - they win or lose, all you have is a rollercoaster of emotions. They win or lose for him, and he wins and loses millions. And as a fan he would also be gutted.

4) When Bolton, with all their money and wonderful infrastructure have to resort to appointing Gary Megson, who was chased out of Leicester... who really do you think we could attract to the job? Because it wouldn't be your Jewells or Colemans. Do you wish we'd got rid of NW at the end of the 2004/05 season? And if so, do you admit you were wrong in that instance? Isn't it possible that you're wrong now.

5) Isn't it fashionable to support your team anymore? Some people on this forum witnessed the Blades sinking down to the fourth tier of English football. But life went on and you continued to follow the team... through chairman intent on plunging the club into debt and managers who you felt weren't good enough to lead YOUR team. All this "I'm never going again" nonsense strikes me as spoilt and childish behaviour when you put things into some perspective.

We have never been a traditionally successful club. My Nannan in all her 70 years has never seen us win a cup. A few promotions and relegations is all she's seen. We've sunk as low as the fourth division and been as high as the first... with a few decent cup runs on the way. But we spent 12 years in this division before our recent promotion so why the petulance now? Maybe we overachieved in our promotion season and continued that into the Premiership? Maybe this is our level for the time being until another rollercoaster either up or down?

I just don't see the point in getting all mardy about it. Life as a football fan is shit. You spend thousands of pounds and travel thousands of miles a season to visit nuclear disaster zones of towns and cities full of Neanderthals and for what? Simply to follow your team. If you don't get any enjoyment out of that... why bother?

All those that protest are merely protesting against their own decision to go to the matches and I implore people to think long and hard about their feelings towards the club.

You don't know it all, Bryan Robson doesn't claim to and whatever happens, we still have a team to support.

Theres u[pset and thers down right stupid, you think loads of prats stood outside a ground shoutin robbo out is gunna make a difference from bein inside the ground shoutin it?

Support the club and that includes the managerthats what you go for right?

And if we are playin hartlepool then justhow it works isnt it, we can do nothin more than go down there and support them to the best we can, i notice we lost quite a considerable amount of 'fans' last season, we will see who are the true fans if that does happen...god forbid ofcourse

I just don't see the point in getting all mardy about it..

And this just goes to show you ain't as mature as us :D

I was going to respond to a few points in your post Linz, but it just went on and on, it's a good way to get people not to argue ;) I might do it at work tomorrow when nothing better to do lol.

Anyways, we expect better because we know we are BETTER than what is currently being put out for ourselves. If we had the team of say Scunthorpe and was in same position, obviously we would be happy because our team wouldn't be as good. We all know we are capable of more than what is happening. This is why fans are frustrated. Sadly this all comes down to one man. Bryan Robson

Like I said before... Bryan Robson tells the players to forget how to kick a ball? Or pass? Or have any positional awareness?

I'm sure he doesn't, however what he is telling them doesn't seem to be having much effect either.

There are such things as good and bad managers. My opinion of Bryan Robson is that he is of the latter part.

So... who realistically do you think we could attract? Bearing in mind that the Wigan job is currently up for tender?

Do you not think that despite the "Warnock out" chants after that Millwall match, McCabe was right to stick to his guns and keep him in the job at that time?

Gary Megson? :D

Currently "available" managers, there aren't that many.
But poaching a manager from another team is not out the question.

Dave Penney, Steve Cotterill, Billy Davies might be available soon, Geraint Williams? Gary Johnson? John Ward? I can't give you a straight answer to this. But I do know that BR is not right for us. I hope he makes me eat my words though.

Warnock was the right man for us. Yes we was right to stand by him. You could see what NW brought to the team.

Would they really want to come when the crowd has reacted the way it did, so early in the season?

So you're saying that some fans don't know all... when so many were advocating his sacking in that summer? ;)

Some of the managers, I would assume would love to come to the lane.

So you're saying that some fans don't know all... when so many were advocating his sacking in that summer? ;)

That's precisely what I'm saying. But I'm an expert :D

I wouldn't mind NW still to be here to be honest, but I can see why his time came to an end.

So is there anyone in the car park... protesting?

So is there anyone in the car park... protesting?

The bloke next to me will be.

Danny Webber sprints 40 yards to close down a defender, jumps in an attempt to block the ball in the same fashion that was successful 5 mins earlier..... he doesn't make a connection so its.... "chuffing hell!, bloody rubbish!".

If theres a bigger tail in the world than him, i'd be amazed, I could write a book on every match!

somehow i cant see there being much people tonight do you?

Oh robbson your shit what are you doin, we are unbeaten in five matches, do you know anythin about the game?

Cant see it myself

Wingers! Playing it wide! At last!

Granted Ipswich looked poor, but finally, after more than a quarter of the season, we played to our strengths. Going 3-5-2/5-3-2 just after the break possibly led to the soft equaliser, but we reverted, played it wide, got behind them and whipped it in.

I'm still far from convinced by Sornob, but tonight, we looked like a side that knew what it was doing.

For the first time this season.

Do you? 5 games unbeaten yes, but 3 of them being draws.

Last night was only a glimmer of hope, but sadly we have seen this before....

think is we should be looking for a win against burnley at home and preston and ipswich. none are special.

Another variation in tactics against ipswich saw us win. all the permitations we have had is as though robson hasnt got a clue and is trying everyone in every position till it works.

It worked last night.

So lets hope he sticks to it.

quite a few gearing up for a protest after the dingle game..... anyone joining them?
