Remember what it was like under Warnock when that board went up, was like a rally call to the crowd, his teams epitomized then never say die attitude.

What I find interesting is that in the tunnel under Warnock he had 'never say die' as the moto underneath the team badge. It now says 'strength in adversity'....not exactly motivating, more defeatist!

Spot on.

Under Warnock (and even Blackwell), if we were up against it with 6 minutes injury time, you'd see the transformation in the team. Going all out to get a point or three from the game and the ground would be electrified. Seems like a distant memory now.

'Strength in adversity' sounds like "Lets not fuck it up too bad eh lads"!

I take it you weren't there for the Millwall game at the end of the 04/05 season.

Where did "strength in adversity" come from anyway? Is it our Latin mottto or something made up on the hoof?

"Spinelessness in adversity" would be more appropriate

Adkins said a few weeks ago that he had no problem with booing as long as its at the end of the game

Yeah I was, it was pretty dire.

But I was also there for all the memories of 2002-2003, the Hillsborough win of 2001, many decent, exciting performances between 2003-2005, including the decent cup runs in 2004, 2005, oh and that promotion season to the premier league in 2006.

Were you there for any of those excellent memories?

I was indeed but I also remember the huge disappointment that we didn't kick on in 03/04 and the falling away in 04/05. No-one can deny that Warnock wouldn't have made it to the promotion season in this day and age, albeit only 10 years ago.
 
'Strength in Adversity' is hardly motivational, in layman terms it's like saying 'Keep your chin up' in fact, perhaps they should just change it to that, keep things simple? ;)
 
Never known such collective dissent from the BL stands directed towards our own team.
Is this the point of no return for Adkins and this assembled bunch of mercenaries.
 
Everybody in the arena just knew we weren't going to do anything with the extra 6 minutes of added time, its getting beyond frustrating now with this set of planks on the field.
 
Adkins tinkers with ingame tactics, switching players around etc, yet no opponents seem to bother and carry on their own game.

Warlocks simple but effective substitutions generally consisted of putting three strikers on upping the tempo and pressurising opponents. Changes made by Adkins don't usually affect our opponents going for another goal. They can all see the lack of spirit pride and commitment in our team. So can the fans, even Jim must be able to its that obvious. Someone at the top must be asking why.

Think it was more a case of telling McCabe how things worked and what to do and keeping Warnock in check because Derek knew how things worked.
 



Adkins is the manager and therefore takes the responsibility for the shite that's on offer,if he read this forum he would be pissing himself at how many are still blaming clough...
