Interesting that he asked for interested parties to get in touch.
I think he would gladly walk if he could.
Maybe is he lowerd his asking price then he may get his wish?
Just as one example I go back to the sale of Blackman in Jan 13. A) very arguably cost us promotion and B) we then brought in Kitson and Robson. Are you telling me the Club saved money on that decision? Yes we had bad luck with Ched but Christ there's been mismanagement on an epic scale since 2007 onwards.I don't think many fans are disputing the amounts of money that's been thrown at the club it's how wisely the money has been spent. He can point the finger at managers, signing of players but he was party to appointing said managers and sanctioning the player recruitment, ultimately the book stops with him. For a bloke who wasn't going to mention bad luck he certainly managed to include it quite a lot. Still don't see a long term plan or strategy, just the opinion that having history, premiership facilities it will be bound to happen eventually, great plan Kevin.
I hadnt read the statement as it wasnt in the official site before I left for the match. I believed Reedy_22 's post thinking that McCabe only said he is putting up the club for saleSo what's the difference then?
"Don't know why the fans should be concerned, the guys who should be concerned are myself and the Prince not the fans" What a condescending twat, no surprise really after his comment about female supporters and appointing managers. We as fans are concerned about where our football club is going, and hopefully we will still have club to support when you and the Prince are a distant memory.
I agree. I thought it was an awful interview. He could hardly contain his contempt for any questioning about his position, his decision making or for any suggestion he should take responsibility for the dreadful, shambolic position this club is in. For whats its worth I thought the interviewer handled it really well. Crucial point for me was when KM handed out the ultimate patronising offer that anyone else with the 'right credentials' I.e. As much money as the mega rich tycoon himself was welcome to come along and talk to him. Truly, the last bastion of the rich is the fact that they are untouchable unless your bank account equates to theirs. I will never have, Nor ever begin to dream of the wealth you have Mr McCabe but I do know the managerial appointments made by you on behalf of this club, starting with Brian Robson, have been cataclysmically bad decisions. You can have that for free. I agree with KM we have had bad luck on the way, really truly bad luck. However just occasionally say you are sorry for what's happened. I don't want some humiliating, cathartic soul baring apology just a simple 'I got it wrong, I take responsibility and I will endeavour to put it right'. The road to,recovery starts with acknowledgment - l really didn't feel that today from the interview.
Christ we are skint, he's going to share a cup of tea with Adkins later.

Why is the suggestion that a new owner needs "the right credentials" patronising?
Not "i.e.", simply your opinion. Nonetheless, isn't considerable wealth a pre-requisite for ownership of any club with aspirations of the Premier League?
Yes, some bad ones. However, what about Warnock (not popular choice but successful)? Speed (popular choice)? Clough (popular choice)? Adkins (universally popular choice)?
He's acknowledged mistakes on various occasions, notably after relegation into Div 3 - when an apology was issued on behalf of the Board. But seriously, why should he say "sorry"? He is a benefactor not a paid employee. Little wonder he sounds pissed off having to deal with 'supporters' who can't cope with the fact that 'shit happens.' Sometimes, despite our best efforts and endeavours, things don't work out as planned.
Have you put your reputation and a chunk of whatever wealth you have on the line on behalf of Sheffield United? Or, like me, are you just a punter who buys his ticket and gets a bit fed up when your team is under-performing?[

I like it when people put words in the correct orderPatronising is not a just a question of use of the language - it's also related to,the way it's delivered. For me, his clear attitude was that very few could match his wealth so, therefore, very few have to right to challenge him. It completely misses the point that football is a quintessentially working person's sport and to to throw his own financial credentials around and challenge anyone to match them does him little credit (and in my view therefore patronising). Considerable wealth does seem to be a prerequisite of success in football these days. I just think ramming it down supporters' throats that they don't have it shows a distinct lack of class.
I didn't say every managerial appointment made was cataclysmic but amidst the 'popular' choices there were some howlers (Robson, Weir, Adams). 8 managers in as many years doesn't rate highly in the competency stakes. Listing them doesn't really help - it was the critical appointments at critical times such as Robson that for me really showed gobsmacking lack of leadership quality.
He's just a benefactor? Really?? He was very clear in his interview that he was the owner. With that comes responsibility and accountability. 'shit happens' - yes it certainly does and in bucket loads for our club languishing in the lower tier for so many years. Please don't refer to me as a 'supporter' in inverted commas and I similarly won't question your credentials as a supporter just because we don't happen to agree.
And no, I haven't put my reputation on the line (although I. shudder to think how much of my wealth has been spent on following the Blades). Not really sure of your point here - the more someone puts his reputation on the line and the more money he spends the less accountable he becomes? Oh, and I'm 'more than a bit fed up' at the moment. I am truly gutted that this great club has become a walking shadow of its former self.
