God's country ...... Rovrum!
A few years back we were playing in the premiership under the stewardship of Warnock and Blackwell, while Rotherham where plying their trade in league 1, ultimately getting relegated to league 2

A few years on and Rotherham managed by Warnock and Blackwell are found playing in a division higher than the one we've been stuck in for 5 years

Sumat's just not reyt!

remember in 1981 we were relegated to division 4 , from the division 3 Rotherham won the title in , putting them 2 divisions above us
but we changed it back to normal soon after

to be fair warnocks gone there to save them from joining us , which is still a huge job

he talked a great tale when he was keeping us in the prem
and at QPR

Correct...... And there manager still left them for a more ambitious local club...... Aye they were the days when we were ambitious!

We've never played in the Premiership under Warnock and Blackwell.

But, we have played in the Premier League under Warnock without Blackwell.

And Warnock couldn't keep us up in the Premiership.....
He also made some really strange decisions when we went to Cardiff and lost to Wolves.
The man has an ego the size of a small planet and when it's going well, then all is well, for me he never had a plan B.
With all due respect the bigger ego seems to be McCabe. If they had not parted at the relegation stage most of the players would have been loyal to Warnock and we would not be in the mess now.
As for the strange decisions McCabe continues to make them and we are now in our worst period in history and looking like we have little hope of it changing soon.
Plan B, whichever plan McCabe chooses it fails.

What a load of rubbish. How anyone can even begin to slag Warnock off with what's been happening at the club in recent years is more than beyond me. A great man and a great manager.

Got to agree with you here Barney. Warnock's teams rarely lost two games in a row. You always knew if they lost they'd come roaring back next game.

Like what ? I can't really remember that far back tbh, it was a shite day all round...

I remember I tried to watch that game on pay-per-view in Houston.
There was no signal and I struggled for ages on the phone with the cable company until I eventually tuned-in to find we were already two goals down.
But I can't deny there was my usual ridiculous Blades-related glimmer of hope right up until Brownie's penalty...

From the Warnock thread.

"When he took over he had six months to "save" United. He followed Heath who had taken just four points from thirty, no win in ten. He was sacked. Our last nine matches that season, we drew four, lost five. Four points from twenty-seven. Spot the minor difference."

Not sure who the poster was, but I checked and double-checked, and he's right.

We were shafted out of the premier league by west ham who cheated. That's why they had to pay us compensation.

I thought this was going to read, "who'd of thought it the mighty Burton Albion would be 21 points clear of us at this stage of the season". Helped by sneaking 1-0 wins under Nigal Clough.

Not starting with McCall and Windass was a big mistake. A day for experienced heads and he dropped one totally and put the other on the bench.

Ah fair enough he was shite then.

To be fair, I'll never like the man so whatever anyone says I will never agree.
Never wanted him here, will never want him back.
His ego is always bigger than any club or player and yes we did get into the Prem and yes we did have some misfortune but it wasn't just Tevez and West Ham that sent us down, please don't bring that up again.

It's possible for both Warnock AND McCabe to have massive egos whilst making strange decisions.

It's hugely embarrassing when any Blade says we were relegated purely because of West Ham's cheating.

Yes they cheated but our own form and management was as much to blame for our relegation as the cheating spammers.

It makes us look pathetic to keep harping on about West Ham.

In the words of a largely annoying Disney film:

Let it go,
Let it gooooooooo

I'm pretty sure if we'd had an Argentina international never registered within competition rules banging in goals left right and centre in the run in, we would have won more points than Wigan too.

I'm also pretty sure we'd have been relegated for cheating.

So what, we play the victim card until the end of time?

You're wide of the mark at best here. We didn't have a magnificent season but if it were't for their cheating, we'd have stayed up, meaning that event and nothing else was the difference.
