As evidenced by my lack of being on here, this season has been more than a bit "meh" for me. I just can't get excited about what I'm witnessing, culminating in feeling a bit crap yesterday and being ensconced on the settee with the cats. Instead of dragging myself out in the rain, I decided to stay there. Hitherto an unthinkable decision but one I made without any shred of remorse.

I have pig fans at work pitying me and I don't have the energy with which to put up a fight. Bit like our first team.

There are have been games where I couldn't be arsed this season. I've missed a couple of midweek games, as I get up for work at half four in a morning, and a couple of Saturday games where I've chosen instead to do some work on projects for forthcoming craft fairs. I can get more satisfaction from being in my nice warm little workshop making something than I can from being cold, wet and woefully disappointed by the dismal displays of a football team that I love.

I'm sure I am repeating myself, but a United loss used to ruin my weekend, now I go not even expecting to win, but still hoping we might and just feel apathetic. Am seriously considering not renewing my ST, unheard of for twenty six years. Will just pick and choose games to go to. Just don't care as much.

We've been doing it for years

Problem is you have to buy you season ticket before we get this season over with!

Maybe a walk out is not the answer, turning your back, holding up 20,000 red cards or my favourite....

Correct mate, thats something else that fucks me off, my money sat in someone else,s bank earning interest for them before i get the pleasure, well not exactly pleasure of seeing what i have paid for

My analogy is that Sheffield United is currently like a failing, disappointing son; shit exam results, keeps getting nicked by the coppers, no job prospects. You can't help but think it's your fault somewhere along the line, but they've reached puberty and there's nothing you can do about it now. You know that for your own sanity, you should kick the little bastard out, but you just can't bring yourself to do it. Yet.

Hope that the errant little fucker will turn his life around may not spring eternal, but you're giving him yet another "one more chance".

I'd make the little bastard sleep in the coal shed. With his ten useless mates. And I'd turn the hosepipe on him at six in the morning.

And we haven't even had a chilly day let alone freezing weather sat in a concrete stand to cope with so far

Are we on TV again this season? IF so, wait for about 5/10 minutes after kick-off and then all walk out. If you do it at a normal game, no one will care. If you do it at a televised game that's shown around the world, then the press will pick up on it.

About 10% of the fans around us walk out its 5-10 minutes to go then all try and hover around the feckin exit....... I'm off t'twats thrad again

Or just not turn up and watch the game in your centrally heated, licenced premises of your choice.

Next at the lane Port Vale, I really don't think I can be bothered to turn up to see Rob Page's collection of free transfers etc run rings round our expensive and highly paid collection of failures. Looking at the remaining fixtures anyone want to buy a season ticket.
Talking of bad weather not a chance I would turn out in these conditions..............................

I ve already started my direct fan action. After nearly 50 years of being a Blade (not after any bigger Blade than you points here), for the first time in as long as I can remember I left early yesterday!! The thought in my mind at the time was 'why am I still coming here?'. On the trudge back to the car I made the decision not to use my season ticket again this season and not bother with my 40 odd mile round trip. ( I know some make a much longer trip) Then I decided to sleep on it.
I ve now slept on it. I very much doubt I ll be at the Port Vale match. My enthusiasm has been slowly and painfully dripped away. I ll stop short of saying 'Im tired of being lied to by board members' but I will say that they certainly have been 'disingenuous' on so many occasions in the past. My feelings are at this moment are I'M OUT.I'VE HAD ENOUGH. I'M GONE.

But then there will be no comment other than TV game reduces attendances at game.

They've got your money and they'll count your empty seat in the attendance figures, can hear McCabe now, haha

But it's NOT! Imagine if yesterday, it was 0-0, a load of fans walk out and Wigan end up winnng 2-0? The blame would be pointed at the fans (aided and abetted by the supine local media). Keep attending. Make other teams (and Wendy) spew when they open their Sunday papers and look at our crowds. Not long till May and there must be no excuse for the guity parties - board, players and manager - to blame the magnificent fans.
If there are further excuses (and there will be), you'll accept them - who you kidding?

Every year or every preseason something happens to give me optimism.
I know I'm grasping at straws when getting Adidas had me excited for the new season.
I'm all for rebuilding in the summer but whether he gets the funding or not I'm not confident that Adkins will spend the money wisely!!
sounds like we are f**ked then?

By the time you'll have agreed on what protest to do, we'll be kicking off the new season.

Those who are protesting against the owners but STILL pay to go, what are you actually protesting against?

Cartoon characters wanting their fifteen minutes.

We could follow the lead of the Liverpool fans and have a walkout. But when? I suspect if we picked the 89th minute, as we were founded in 1889, many of the crowd would be long gone by then.

I don't really think that any walkout would influence McCabe, the prince, Jim Phipps or anyone else on the board. McCabe doesn't give a shit as long as he's making money, the prince is too busy with whatever his "job" as Saudi General Minister for Youth Welfare entails, Jim Phipps is enthusiastic but about as effective as a fart in a wind tunnel, and the rest of the board seem to be mainly local businessmen who have no grounding in football whatsoever, with the exception of Dave McCarthy.

We have been fucked over since the relegation from the Premier League, almost nine years ago, and it could be easily argued that we've been getting a good tupping from our owners since long before that. The club has been run ineptly by most, Derek Dooley aside, and it doesn't look like much is going to change in the near future. Do I like this? No, I bloody well don't. I also don't have a cure-all answer to the problem, although I wish that I had.

The "game-changing" investment hasn't reaped much in the way of any reward. Sure, Jim Phipps can argue that we've signed players, but have any of the signings since the prince paid his pound made a significant difference? All that has happened is that we have progressively become weaker, and I can't really see this changing. We have signed players that on the whole are simply average Division Three standard, with one or two possible exceptions, but even with the obvious stand-out candidates like Sharp most of the others signed have not shown enough to merit retaining them in the summer.

As much as we don't like it we are going to have to face up to facts. We have a manager shackled by an inept board, whose members do not have the necessary experience to run a football club. While enthusiasm and Twitter pictures of fans in new shirts is not a crime, our co-chairman Mr. Phipps has demonstrated that he's woefully out of touch with how most Sheffield United fans feel about the way we are heading. Next season could well be a relegation fight, and if it is then the board will feel the wrath of the supporters in ways they can't possibly comprehend right now.

It won't take much more of the dross we've been served up over the last few years before many more United fans are in open revolt. A walk out in protest will just be the beginning, and I must say that I will be one of those walking.

Put simply, I've had about enough of the way we are being run. No ambition despite statements to the contrary, no adequate replacement of players we've seen go, and a nice pat on the head now and again from a jovial American isn't enough, by a long, long way.

Very well put the club management have only themselves to blame the way the fans totally disillusioned feedback is heading - legal tangible protested work whether its football or politics they DO affect and produce CHANGE when radical change and rethinking is desperately needed - why some fans don't grasp a protest nettle even if non attendance is puzzling to me

I don't think so. The majority of Blades don't have that will or fire in their bellies to take it to the board. The majority of Blades are just too punch drunk to be that bothered.

Am feeling much the same NYB,have got shit loads to do on the old house could use me saturdays to get that done, and the thought of shelling out another £450 or whatever the price to watch this current serving of dross does not inspire me to make the effort to go out and watch this bunch of spineless twats in the pissing down rain and freezing cold within the confines of the ground that is like a mausoleum most of the time with no atmosphere :( i will most likely pick and choose few matches

Slow handclap needed on the 70th* minute of every home game.

(*70th minute: intended to "commemorate" McCabe having been in charge since 1970. It really seems that long.)

I think a walkout would send the message that enough is enough, a near empty Bramall Lane at half time would be a huge embarrassment for the board members sat in the south stand with the company of 500 or so away fans. It may not change things, but it would be the two fingers to the inept players, manager and board who seem to care very little.

Wouldn't any protest, demonstration during the actual match affect our delicate players more than our owners/board who by all accounts are rarely there anyway. Certainly once we have secured our position in the 3rd tier of football and the playoffs are beyond us then it will be gloves off and then everybody can vent their frustrations to their hearts content and justly so IMO

Or they may play better when not being watched.

do they really do that? The kop definitely looked emptier yesterday than of late.
