Not been to the game today. Not sorry I haven't been either. I obviously can't comment on a performance I haven't seen but the fact that we appear to have a Sheffield United side who are incapable of setting our stall out to attack sides and win games in the THIRD fucking Division at Bramall fucking Lane is something that I find utterly fucking staggering.

Just what the fuck is going on at every level of our club?

The fans who turn up every fucking home game (19000 plus) and who go away and make every one of our away games the home team's biggest pay day of the season deserve way, way, WAY better than this UTTER SHIT.

Mr McCabe... Mr Phipps (on behalf of our co-owner) just, for once, be honest with those fans who are keeping our club alive. WHAT IS GOING ON? WHAT IS THE PLAN? This team and the shit they have consistently served up are an absolute fucking disgrace to the name of Sheffield United. And you guys, the ones who are at the very top of the tree, the ones who take the fans money and decide where it goes, where it's spent and where it's not... The ones who are fucking RESPONSIBLE for the club - JUST WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PLAN? DO YOU HAVE ONE?

An honest answer would be very welcome (even if it's not what I might ideally like to hear) but I don't expect that you'll ever give one. After over 48yrs of following the Blades I don't count myself as a firebrand or a hothead.... but you guys at the top are now taking us back to the fucking laughably bad days of Sam/Samantha fucking Hashimi.... Woolhouse and the delightful Mr Charles Green.

And to all you lads and lasses who've been today and who go to games to support the shirt week in week out - I salute you. This great club of ours deserves you.... those who run/ruin it and those of the playing staff who consistently embarras our badge fucking don't.

I wouldn't expect too much honesty because the act of hiring and firing a succession of managers is all about shifting blame away from those who are in ultimately charge. Phipps is being honest within the remit of his employment, which seems to drive others to despair, but I can accept that.

A truly honest statement from the board would be to say they've taken a series of short term decisions and investments, most of which have failed, and it's left us with no foundation to our footballing business. I think that's what a de-spun version of Phipp's statement would amount to.

The players know Adkins will bomb the majority out so they aren't playing for him in the hope he gets sacked and another man takes over and keeps them on their cushy deals. For me anyway.

Apart from that the board aren't backing a capable manager to the extent he needs it. He needs to perform major open heart surgery and he's been given a screwdriver and a rolling pin.

Something is going on behind the scenes but it's only really us who pays the price. It always is.

Don't think that is too far off the truth.
The board need the balls to ride it out.

the club (and especially the board) would have more credibility if they just came out and said 'look. we're skint. we have all these knobheads on humongous wages, we can't afford any new players atm'.. i think people would accept that but instead we get guff about 'game changing investments', we're going to buy this player/that player (we dont actually buy them)! and 'premier in five years'

Surely if they do play for him they will stand themselves a better chance of getting another contract? If they don't play for him, get him sacked then whoever gets the job next will see the low league position and let them go anyway.

I don't think they are playing for Adkins, that is all for now

That is a good point! If they've been asking him about contracts and he's refusing to let anyone know until the summer, they might be getting itchy feet and worrying they will be finding a new club with a big reduction in wages. Try to get him out and get a new manager in.

Theyve done it before and they will again, they've got another manager in their sights now.
Some have got about another 20% in their locker to play with, but I don't think they really want to.

Not necessarily. If they think his mind is made up they'll be playing up to get him sacked then be pally with the new gaffer and give him 100%.

If they get him sacked the board can use their old excuse of the new manager needs more time to assess his squad before any new players are bought in wait until the next window.
Then they can keep the same bunch on new reduced wages which keeps the players and board happy saving money, screw what the fans think.

Wigan are a far better side than us I can't think of one player besides Sharp possibly who would get in their team. Today they were just better everywhere and showed how we should be attempting to get put of this division. Fast wingers who get in behind and midfielders who actually want the ball. They aren't brilliant defensively as we know and as the number go goals they concede suggests but they don't have to be. They score 3 every week so can afford to concede. Today Brayford had another shocker and just highlighted how much money we've pissed away on a RB when you could have had Max power, Morsy and Wildschut all for less than Brayford cost.

What a load of bollocks. Players deliberately losing games (which is what not trying entails) to get the manager the sack? Utter crap. They are just genuinely wank.

What, Northern Premier? A true Sheffield derby at last?

Absolute set of wankers then aren't they.

the summer will be a big transition window for us but that nothing we dont know as we all knew we need clearout in the summer for while & maybe clearout we shouldve had this summer I said in may that mceveley needs to go & what do we do give him the captains armband, clearout not as drastic as many going have said probably just the 7 Howard Collins Harris Freeman McEveley Coutts Woolford (9 if you include 2 loan players Hammond & salmmon) not the 12/15 that I've seen bandied about

Also whats going on with our academy. Because how do you know if the likes of dimaio, khan, calvert lewin, de girlamo, reed, whiteman, banton & jake Wright their any good unless you give them ago they might not be up to it or like Harry kane at spurs we could find a gem which save us money because we dont have to get someone like Hammond or edgar on loan

This is not a criticism of adkins but I thought brian deane wouldve been a better choice because a club legend couldve have given us the same umph/passion that warnock gave in our slump in early 00's.

McEveley was our best player today, seriously, we need to get rid of others before him.

I need to find a list of whose contracts will be up in Summer, I need something to cheer me up.

I'll admit since man utd he's been more hit than miss but I was more referring to post Swindon 2nd leg & the clearout that shouldve happened in june than last few games where hes been ok after going to lb from disaster at cb

He is having a good spell pal, which is more than can be said of most of our side today.

For those that are like that he needs to get rid. Probably wise to freeze Scougall out of the team as he won't be in the squad next year.

'they've got another manager in their sights now'. And who might that be?

Honest answer from me - at best, mid table mediocrity - we have really fucked it up this year and there's little to get excited about next year. OK, some may be shipped out but what will be the standard of players brought in?? I really think my club have thrown in the towel this year and that bloody hurts!!!

I don't like this co-ownership arrangement at all. All McCabe managed to do was find someone who knows even less than he does about running a football club. In the meantime we've had smoke blown up our arses with all this "we put bids in for players....working hard behind the scenes" bullshit. I said years ago that while McCabe is still involved this club is going nowhere.

If we don't make the Play Offs there wlll be a lot of pressure to change the manager. Clough got us into the League Cup semi final and the Play Offs (where we scored six times in the semis without making it to Wembley, first club to do that I'm sure). If Clough deserved to be sacked after last season, will Adkins be allowed another season if we finish mid-table and make the third round of the FA Cup?

I would assume so. He's clearly been shafted in terms of transfers but is towing the company line. I'm guessing, unless we end up towards the bottom of the league, the Board will be satisfied.

.....what will be the standard of players brought in??

My concern is we will clear out the expensive players in the summer and have a replacement policy that ensures a low cost wage bill / operating base and will have a squad of hopefuls and also ran players.

I find it laughable to think that the players are deliberately playing crap to get Sadkins the sack. They're not capable of playing - crap or otherwise. The proof? How many clubs came in for a single one of our players in the JTW? Not one. If there were any half-decent players in this team, they'd have been sold by now.

Apparently we make more money in this league though. Every silver lining and that.
