There's that much drivel on this site at the moment it's enough to make you weep.
All this talk of blades having no ambition, let's break into two parts, infrastructure and the football side of the club.
Since Mccabe became chairman we have had a torrid time on the pitch (highs and lows),structure wise we have come on leaps and bounds ,the ground is hardly recogniseable to the one previouse to Mccabes tenure (this is not a support Mccabe thread just laying down out a few facts),We have a fantastic training ground with the academy doing well (15th best in country . That's a fact),this costs a lot of money and for a league 1 team is a credit. The new pitches both at Bramall lane and shirecliffe have cost in the region of 2 million,All this by
a club with no ambition ? ! !
Don't make me laugh.
Now to the football side ( obviously this is the one that counts and it's all gone wrong under Mccabe).
A lot of money has gone into trying to get back to the premier league and then relegation to the 1 division
which is a nightmare for a club of our size (losses in this division are massive and unsustainable this is why Mccabe was willing to give away 50%of the club to bring in fresh money).Money has been spent since the prince came in but two false starts Weir and then clough has set the club back big time.Weir was a big mistake but he didn't do as much damage as clough did both had there contracts terminated early which costs money (and in cloughs case with his staff that must have cost a lot of money) This by a club lacking ambition? ! !.
I was a clough supporter but with hindsight I realise he wasted a lot of money on players who could have
been good enough, but were not and game changers (what we really needed) were never signed .
The waste of money and the player fallouts are in my opinion the reason he was sacked
Adkins comes in with the problem of a bloated squad which is not good enough for the job in hand,he had to review what he inherited and that has cost vital time and more importantly points. He obviously knows now what's needed but that takes time to put in place so why blast the bloke before he's had time to get it together.
With all this going on I don't get it that the club has no ambition! ! ! Think again! ! !

I have thought again and we are in a worse position football wise now than we were when McCabe took over.
We have lost the ground, training ground and hotel to him.
We have been continually lied to, I.e. Beatie flu, money invested back into the team etc.
We have to date this year received ~ £3 million which was not budgeted for, ( Murphy and old Trafford cup tie) yet have no signs of it being reinvested.
We are again being fed the same jam tomorrow story.
We have been loyal for too long on the same promises and I am worried that unless things change, I. E. McCabe leaves we will have no football club left.

A very disillusioned blade who in spite of receiving a free original share ticket next season will consider not going unless he sees signs of ambition and that does not include building new stands and hotels.

Paragraphs.

For the love of everything that is holy, please use paragraphs!

No good having a good ground if it less than half full which it will be next season unless the miracle occurs and we are promoted.

The club assets will be returned when the club can sustain the costs Mccabe has said this at the moment we can't so he absorbs the costs through his companies. We will get them back and in any case Mccabe owns the entire shebang.

Finlay Finlay, just wish I could do business with you.
What are the costs involved in maintaining title of an asset?

Personally I go to watch the product on the pitch, the furnishings are of secondary importance. I agree money has been invested unfortunately a good wedge of it has been wasted by managers appointed by KM. Until the powers that be devise a "long term plan" that is not binned with every managers sacking I don't see our fortunes changing. Is NA the answer, certainly had the CV, but his signings smack of short term fix again.

Done, the Beard, Billy, Hammond, and most of all Adkins and his team are jam today.

W H F we gave totally different ideas of what constitutes jam if you think we have a good team to get out if this division yiu are a v v optimistic blade. Especially as you include Done in your list of three jam donuts, leaves a hell of a lot of stodge though

Time will tell Derry blade but it's early doors yet in Adkins tenure he deserves time to put his plan together, that may mean next season but this one is still alive, many blades seem to have wrote it off but if we continue to pick up points like we've done since end of Nov play offs are more than a realistic possibility ,how about showing a bit of positivity.Piggies are laughing up there kilts at the negativity being shown by blades on forums including football heaven.

Ghandi,

Do you have memory issues.

Remember 3 years ago. Many doom and gloom Blades and pig fans predicted 14K gates.

Then remember 2 years ago, no ambition and many again said 14K gates.

Last year after Cloughs many again predicted 14K gates.

Do you know why we've maintained gates around 19,000 all those seasons?

It's because we've been bookies favourited for promotion. Why have we been bookies favourites I wonder?

It's because at the start of the season we have on paper the strongest squad and neutrals believe we have the resources to strengthen based on recent history.

As the OP says ambition hasn't been the issue. The problem has been players signed/ loaned and the managers inability to get the best from them.

Another issue had been added pressure from the heavy expectation and short term ism.

How's the weather in Belgium, Kevin?

Oh - and pull your f'kin finger out!

It is perceived that we have the strongest squad, however even our manager said at the start of this season that we needed to strengthen.
We are bookies favourites due to our stature as a club not Because of our squad strength that us what annoys me, one us not commensurate with the other

paragraphs were O levels mate ;)
interesting post though
In junior school, my teacher marked my English work and wrote 'More paras needed' - so I drew some stick men parachuting out of a plane in the margin. I got told off about it but he was chuckling as he admonished me and did admit that it made him laugh when he saw it.

Actually, they're laughing much more at how shit we are and how we can't manage a credible promotion campaign from division 3.

What about James Wallace?

He owned the ground the minute he bought the club. Changing which company holds the title doesn't affect that.
