Hope we can recall him..
All correct except not sure on that last paragraph. Think they do become available but not 100%We can't – it's a standard loan to the end of the season, rather than an emergency loan where a recall clause applies. For standard loans the only recall is if it's season-long and the player is recalled in the midseason window.
It also means that, like with McNulty, if we make the playoffs and Pompey don't, he won't be available for selection.

This came up on another thread the other day when someone suggested we recall McNulty.
53.2 Standard Loans. Subject to the provisions of Regulation 52.2, Standard Loan transfers shall only be approved in accordance with following provisions:
53.2.1 Standard Loans shall be allowed to or from Clubs (or, as applicable, clubs) in membership of The Football League, The Premier League, The Football Conference, Northern Premier League, Isthmian League and Southern League providing the rules and regulations of the respective leagues so allow.
53.2.2 Subject to the proviso that the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two Transfer Windows, Standard Loans can be for half a Season or a full Season. Any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window. Any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between both Clubs and the Player but can only be completed after the expiry of 28 days and only during a Transfer Window (but subject to Regulation 53.2.3 below).
53.2.3 A Player whose Standard Loan expires (or terminates) on completion of his Loaning Club's League Matches will not be eligible to play for his Parent Club (where it is a Member Club) in any remaining League Matches in that Seasonnotwithstanding the fact that he is a Registered Player of that Club and that such expiry or termination occurs during a Transfer Window.
53.2.4 Notwithstanding the provisions of Regulation 53.2.2, a Standard Loan of a goalkeeper (but not otherwise) may be subject to a recall clause exercisable at any time. Any recall may only be implemented in extenuating circumstances and with the consent of The League, such extenuating circumstances to be determined in The League's absolute discretion. A goalkeeper shall not be permitted to resume any Standard Loan following the exercise of a recall.
53.2.5 No more than 2 Players who are over 23 may join one Loaning Club from another Parent Club on a Standard Loan in any Season.
53.2.6 Standard Loans which subsequently become permanent transfers (which can occur any time during the period of the Standard Loan) shall not count against a Club's quota of such Standard Loans for that Season.

Does a play off count as a "league match"?
Promotion isn't a genuine ambition this season. I think that should be obvious to everyone now. The season is simply about getting people off the wage bill and anything else is secondary
If it doesn't it surely doesn't count as being within a transfer window...
And yet we extend the (expensive) deal for the distinctly average Hammond...Promotion isn't a genuine ambition this season. I think that should be obvious to everyone now. The season is simply about getting people off the wage bill and anything else is secondary
But doesn't he play centre mid now...Not fussed on this one. Flynn is adequate cover and we've got the best RB in the league.

When you need that central midfield shoring up, bring in the right back/ wingerIf he does, he's one of 8 capable of playing there.
No, because look at the first team and try and convince anyone otherwise.Because we loaned out a non-match-day-squad player?

No...What point are you making here? That Freeman is essential for centre midfield?
No...
That whilst last season Flynn was adapting to right back/ right mid, Adkins prefers to bring him in at centre mid... Where he should never ever play...
