i forgot we were playing last night for the first time i can remember.. worrying

I think the apathy is getting strong in a lot of us now. None more so than, worryingly, the board.

I confess that I spent Tuesday morning watching the weather and hoping the game would be called off. Having been to the game it might have been better if I'd just forgotten about it in the first place.

Who's organizing mass protests? o_O

Erm, let me think?
'How do we protest against the current regime?'
That wouldn't be your thread by any chance would it? Maybe you were just thinking of a one man protest?

Have a chat with Brian The Blade he's well up on that sort of thing.......:)

I wish those with 'apathy' would keep away from their keyboards.

Amazing how such 'apathy' can be surmounted long enough to moan like hell on a fans forum, what a conflict of their senses: apathetic but so much time spent moaning how much they don't care!

I knew it was on, listened on pig radio but chatted with family during game. Normally I would wave arms, sshhuuussshhhh every 30 seconds and have a paddy if someone spoke when we were close. Doesn't seam that important these days, Mojo on MT. :(

That's what you call organizing a protest? Are you for real?

Me too. Then I remembered when I saw a headline on sky which read, 'Blades move closer to playoff spot' and I let myself believe for a moment that we had won............much like when we do any transfer business, but its selling or loaning out a player, another false dawn.

Just because someone moans doesn't mean they don't care, quite the opposite.

Those twats [not aimed at you] who've clapped some of the useless fuckers I've had to watch like mad and without redress don't seem to care and have blindly seen us drop without apparently noticing have a lot to answer for.

Haven't read the rest of this thread yet. But I think he's got a point... I saw it as a thread wanting suggestions on how to organise a protest..

If I now don't know how to read, then that's ok... But I thought you'd asked a question, about how to organise a protest...

I asked how do we protest, nothing about organizing one... As in asking what would be the best way to make a statement.

Each to their own but surely the 'flouncers' are those that claim to be apathetic and then regularly post about how apathetic they are? Very much like a certain poster who went to great lengths to say how unhappy he was about the current state of affairs and announced his withdrawal from the forum in a long and boring post. Then proceeded to continue posting a few days later.

Without wishing to state the bleeding obvious, it's all about expectation isn't it? Another thread asks "Are we Rochdale in disguise" which points out that Rochdale will be happy to retain their League 1 status, the suggestion being that our board and their board have similar policies, sell best players etc.

I think it's fair to say that prior to the season starting, most blades fans were expecting an automatic promotion push - nothing wrong with that, a club of our standing SHOULD be aiming for promotion, new manager with a proven track record at this level - what could go wrong? I was perhaps in the minority that actually thought we'd need another season and without being smug, that looks to be the case. I always thought there would need to be a high turnover of playing staff before we could challenge. It became obvious this wouldn't happen last summer and I didn't see what was basically the same squad, then minus Murphy, challenging - I don't believe there is enough pace or players with the consistency and mental strength to achieve promotion in the squad. I'm hoping that Nige has also realised this and trust he will attempt to address this, not in the JTW, as I think he will simply use that to offload, but mainly in the coming summer when many players contracts are up - he has to!

Why am I waffling along like this? Well it has left me this season, not with apathy, but I'm able to enjoy it a little more as I didn't have that expectation. Oh it can be frustrating, none more so than the Swindon game, and it can be awful, none more so than the ridiculous and frankly embarrassing Shrewsbury game. I don't get to many away games, so far just Wigan, but I'm now really looking forward to going to the next 4 games including Donny and Bury away. I just try to treat it as a day out with a few beers and if we win, bonus!

I coughed and sneezed through most of it. It was slightly more exiting this way as the numbed sense of hearing during such an episode, lead to a hightened alertness as I came out of one, only to be instantly dulled upon the stark realisation of that brillaint commentator RS employ had nothing new to report.
