Disappointing from what I've seen that he's been released. However saying that I also wanted us to keep Matt Harriott and Elliot Whitehouse who now both play non-league.

Another pro either not currently good enough and/or won't ever be good enough. Only another ~15 to go. A shame when academy prospects don't quite make it but at least it's another one off the payroll. Can see him ending up at Conf or Conf North level.

I liked what I have seen from him and he can't be bad as Barnsley have snapped him up straight away but as long as we keep cutting the squad down and getting a few good additions in the process I won't mind. Good luck Otis.

But every little bit helps, doesn't matter how much he was on it clearly frees a place and some cash up...

Try and imagine that a player wants 8,000 a week, we can only afford 7,000 and the difference is made up from Kahn being released, is that easier for you to understand??

Once again the assumption is made that The Dead Wood 'WILL' be shipped out. I would not be surprised if Collins and Jay Mac where in our starting eleven come the first game next season.

As for Otis not seen enough of him to comment on whether this is a good move or not.

On another note, we don't want to be getting sentimental about players who'll be released, the cull which is pretty much universally wanted will bring up more instances of this, but we need to be ruthless, feeling sorry for players like Wallace, curvellier, and di girolomo won't get us anywhere..


I'm betting there are plenty of posters on here who have never seen any of these players actually on the pitch... I've seen cuvellier once, dieago twice, and I think Wallace played and went off injured... Sad about their personal circumstances, but we need players who can at least be up for selection..never mind challenge for a shirt...

Well I can't see us renewing Wallace or Cuvelier, would imagine Scougall will get moved on, not sure we retain Baxter either. This doesn't leave us with very much in the way of central midfielders, even assuming Hammond is made permanent. Next season, who the hell do we play if, say, Basham's forced to play CB due to injuries/bans because we still haven't bought one, and Hammond's 33 year old legs can't cope with the exertions of playing 90 all the time? Reed? Move Coutts inside?
