Game changing investment meant we'd pay macdonald a few quid more, promise him we were heading to the championship and then the premier and convince him he was key to this battle plan, add Brayford, sharp, coady, and keep maguire, take that stunning end of season form and carry it on into the next season adding a top quality keeper while long still learns the trade, and replacing Collins with a player like burn... Etc etc.... You're one that believes anything that the club say, and vomits it straight back out without thinking...

That sounds about right Tezza.

It is certainly what I expected when McCabe made the announcement that the Prince was on board and we were heading for the top flight at the earliest opportunity. Now when politicians make such pledges and it all goes bobbar, they usually answer their critics with some kind of reasoning why it didn't happen, or step down as failures. Three years down the line now and we show absolutely no forward motion whatsoever. In fact, the only time I felt we were actually on the cusp of something promising was when McMahon knocked in those two free kicks at Crawley aeons ago and we topped the league for Christmas. Since then, where have we ever displayed the level of output which shows us and anyone else we are going up?

Selling our best players is the elephant in the shithouse for me and people who see any positives in it or excuse it away with 'we could do nothing about it' are charlatans and idiots. The mere fact that the players are out of the fire exit as soon as the first offer comes says enough. The other fact that the board seem willing to accept any offer (undisclosed) says the rest.

As said, I can't wait for the revised/updated edition of 'Fit and Proper'. Do the authors post here, anyone know?

Despite that and 2 Kingfishers, my opinion is that if we can get 2million or more snap anybody's hand off. The lad can't get in our team as bad as we are. He has something but more importantly he has temperament problems and can't concentrate, doesn't know the game.

Maguire - opportunity to join a Premiership club, doubling/trebling wages. What you're saying makes perfect sense if you ignore the fact that John stones is still an Everton player, and that we don't need to sell our best players but still do..

Is it the bloke that draws our players contracts up that hasn't got a clue? My bet is these clauses are mutually beneficial and of course are inserted because of that..

Murphy was happy here, settled with a new baby I believe...

And maguire, well rumours are we chased hull up the car park and did the deal before they drove off....
