Listening to talksport drive on way home with Adrian Durham and Darren gough

Quite shocked in one way not in another to hear that sufc are getting slagged off by Adrian for their tactics and not having a go at Manchester United

Also slagged us of for actually having a go at Peterborough ( he is a posh fan) as they play expansive football and look for goals sort of implying we got our game plans the wrong way round for the two games. To be fair when a blades fan called the programme and said he thought the game plan should have been tight until half time then start to go for it a bit as the second half went on they sort of agreed .
Don't get me wrong I would love to have seen what would have happened if we had played further up the field but we didn't .
They said they thought it was rather sad that sufc clearly cared more about the replay and the money than beating Man U on the day .

It just shocked me that a team struggling for form in league 1 should be heavily criticised trying to contain a team worth hundreds of millions ( albeit a poor Man U side by previous teams) .
I can see their point in a way but as radio pundits one who was a cricketer their opinion is we should have had a right go at Man U.

Sufc the team everyone loves to hate ?? OR bang on criticism ??

Not worried whatever Durham thinks - He's a tosser !
Gough should stick to cricket as he knows bugger all about football !

Gough is a Dingle that has a season ticket at MK Plastics so WTF does he know about football.
Durham takes a stance to provoke calls into the programme as they get money when numpties call in.
I stopped listening to their drivel at least 3-4 years ago.

Nob jockeys, pair on em

Utter nonsense by football know-nowts. Would they be happier if we'd "gone for it" and got tonked 4- or 5- nil? The game plan was more or less spot-on, and so nearly worked.
I reckon there was a plan to attack at bit more in the last 15 minutes or so, but having to sub McEveley limited the options a bit.

People are entitled to opinions, he most likely said it to generate more calls.

Rather hear criticism of that than the bullshit about 'racist chanting'.

It's a bleedin wind up programme, it's horribly scripted too.
They say something controversial to get people to call in- or to tune in to listen to the irate calls.
We were 2min away from a replay against the worlds richest club, come on, what's to slag off?

Thing is, we picked our current first XI.

Our current first XI is strongish on grinding, but lacking in finesse (including pace, guile, attacking instinct and technical ability). But, having been round the houses with a whole bunch of permutations, all of which have failed, the side that we stuck out on Saturday was (give or take) the best that we currently can. When we could, particularly first half, we got the ball forward quite well. 2nd half we struggled to even get the ball for long spells. Not entirely surprisingly, given the oppo, the venue, and the style they're playing at the moment.

What exactly do Gough and his dodgy mate expect from a middling 3rd division team playing away at the theatre of cash ?

No idea who Adrian Durham is but I agree with them about the tactic at Old Trafford

apart from that I think drawing away and then having a go at home is a tactic to try and win the tie NOT to try and generate more cash through the turnstyles, after all, we'd have at least one other FA cup tie to follow & maybe a few more.

Agree with everyone that the whole show is geared to wind people up to ring in

The whole argument they had was ridiculous. No analysis about our good and bad points or our form this year
Just a basic argument that Manchester United are out of form so we should have gone for it

Never heard him agree with anyone and just cuts callers off so he can have the final say

Don't even know why I listen to be honest haha x

its difficult to knock us when the penalty taker earns more this week than our entire playing staff , 11 players 7 subs the manager and coach

i think hes spot on
Man yoo were dire and we just tried to defend for the full game

If we had had a go we might have won as it is we lost no matter the difference in wage bills
We quitely slipped out the cup without being brave enough to have a go

Doesnt fill me with pride to be honest

They were probably disappointed that the hammering they wanted didn't materialise, bit like a couple on here...

to be fair , hes right , man utd on the day were cack , just a 10% risk might have got us some reward
I watched it and thought it was an opportunity passed over , through lack of ambition
I doubt very much Basserr wouldnt have pushed us forward , smelling blood

Fuck Durham
Fuck Gough
Fuck TalkSport
Fuck Pearson
Fuck Palmer
Fuck Vaughan
Fuck Laws
Fuck Curran
Fuck EVERYTHING associated with S6 and EVERYBODY else REGARDLESS.

No hypocrite.

Did you grasp the message?

So would I if I'd had Deano and Hodges.

Durham is a tw*t. Everything he says is controversial just to try and get a reaction.
He's the radio equivalent of an Internet WUM. He's deliberately idiotic to encourage people to phone in his radio station. TalkSport are a bit all over the place, they don't know whether they want to be a rant radio station for white van drivers and builders or a touch more highbrow so they have a mix of good programmes with decent journalists and ex pros on their panels and absolute dross like Durham.
