A Murphy Replacement

I thought the whole idea of financial fair play schemes was a dead duck as they have questionable enforceability under European Law.

Paying off a player is capital investment? Lol.

You must get off on making yourself look a twat or you are desperate for attention again.
You clearly don't have any idea about what you're talking about.

Paying off a player is not the same as paying a salary.

It's part of the contract settlement, therefore it forms part of the SCMP calculation.

Where do you suggest it goes in the accounts then, as a balance sheet asset?

I wouldn't have thought anyone could be that thick, but then it's you....

You speak like you're trying to be someone you're not. Really you don't have a clue.

If we had any ambition we'd pay a few off early to allow the room for strengthening in January. Because we won't do that there's zero point in spending anything until the summer, by which time we'll have scuppered another season in this league.

And to think you had the balls to accuse me of not having a good grasp of our accounts.

Clearly a barney wind up. Must have had a bad day putting the toys in the happy meals and needs the attention.

You don't. Paying a salary isn't the same as a pay off.

One is contractual, the other isn't - because it's ended.

Barney - stop digging. Sean Thornton is spot on: player wages are contractual obligations so paying a contract up just brings that cash outflow forward and consolidates it into one sum.

Either you're being thick or facetious and I really hope it's the former as there's no place on the forum for the latter.

I was just checking if he'd put me on ignore the other day like he promised after several people pointed out what toss his post was.

We have a massive squad, but it's a poor one, with a very average first 11. If we don't make two or three quality signings then we are writing off another season in this godforsaken league.

The trouble is, in your frustration you are losing sight of reason;
After a mere 54 years, excuse my frustration. This vague hint that there may be some movement 'later' in the JTW is yet another smokescreen. Expect the usual tale of 'nothing better than we already have', 'we tried but...' etc. etc. We've had years of this and it has worn thin.

We have no right to demand that others stump up millions more, especially when we consider our own low value input as being on the line. Of course, from a mere consumer perspective, that's your right.

UTB

Of course we cannot demand that 'others stump up millions more'. I don't know where the 'millions' came from but there are plenty of players out there who are better than what we've got. We seldom utilise the loan market - something that will see Coventry hosting a promotion party by the time we play there in May. Most other teams seem able to find these players (and pay their wages etc.) It's this kind of 'our hands are tied' thinking that is consigning us to a sixth season at this level and teams like Rotherham forging ahead of us.

Finally, what you refer to as 'our own low value input'. I would suggest that our magnificent crowd are our prime resource (47k in 2 games last week and a sell-out at OT). Be in no doubt, other teams - including Wendy - look at our crowds with envy but they will fall away next season with this complete lack of ambition. The blaming of previous managers for the over-sized squad of dross doesn't wash. NA has hardly set the transfer market on fire re. quality.

Rules wouldn't be broken if we payed them off.

I am afraid they would be, paying off contracts counts as expenditure under FFP rules.

Sorry but it's a fact

It's more of a nuisance having you on ignore than not.

Just a shame I can't escape your posts any more.

I suppose there's always going to be arrogant know nothings to be put up with on football forums.

Lots of mixed messages in there that go off your original topic. Your final point about Adkins signings falls into the (often repeated by Clough fans) trap of justifying previous failure by current ones. They aren't related.

Either way, our squad is far to big and far too expensive for the third division. As an owner, of demand it was trimmed.

It's blatantly obvious now that you are doing nothing more than trolling. You really should be banned.

You shouldn't be worried. It's not like personal abuse is against the rules.

And it definitely isn't the case that you have engaged in any of that.

It does appear that way but I'm still leaning towards thick. He has the tremendous confidence when posting utter bollocks that only the terminally stupid can achieve.

I'm not worried. You are unanimously considered the form idiot. It's more a statement of fact than abuse.

Back on topic, referring to Pete a a "now nothing" immediately after having your pants removed by numerous posters, simply sums you up for the prat that you are.

No it's something you probably don't use very often, well in the company of anyone but yourself anyway.

Reduced to knob jokes to deflect from the idiocy.

Another wind up that hasn't gone your way.

The irony from the plastic!

How many people need to correct you on the above before you admit you're wrong?
