Fair play to them however a bit harsh on their team especially the first half. Would love to see Billy Clarke back at the Lane, although him and Hanson were kept quiet second half.

A really great set of comments. Great fans.

"They were better than us at passing, tackling, heading, shooting, running, positioning, marking, moving, goalkeeping, managing, working the ref and all other aspects of playing football.

On another day I’d say the ref was sh*te but in all honesty it didn’t really effect the outcome so let’s leave it at he weren’t right good”.

“Sheffield were hardcore and determined. Unlike us !”

“For a moment I thought Sheff U fans were singing ‘you’re just a town full of Parky’s’. I like the idea of a town full of Parky’s”

They had the better of the second quarter of the game and - though the game was up - the final fifteen minutes so the reaction of some of their fans is debatable - "embarrassment" in particular, no need. Their problem was that they were so one dimensional that United actually dealt with Hanson quite easily and it was only when they played through midfield at the end of the first half that they really caused any problems that were going to change the result. I thought Sammon was below par in the first half after he replaced Done and the game notably swung from a dominating SUFC display to edgy and nervous; Long's save from the free kick was a big moment in the match. Sammon's miss at the end of the first half felt like it would come back to bite us on the backside but, to be fair, he rallied second half and that period from 50-70 minutes was as good as I've seen United in a long time. Adkins must strive for that on a more regular prolonged basis because there is no doubt that it would entertain us Blades and have us turn up week in, week out. It would also, IMO, guarantee us promotion as no team in the division would have been able to live with us at that point. I'd say that 70% of the game was United's and that is reflected in a 2-goal winning margin, fair result.

Spot on about their dominance. We let our foot off the gas. This is exactly what happened against Shrewsbury. Coutts going down with a "head injury" was wily. Obviously we stepped it up second half. Still a work in progress though.

Good atmosphere, proper away following, proper club.

They just need to spend a bit of money on a genuine ball player to challenge in this league.

Yes, agree with the above. I work with a few Bradford fans, who are all good lads, one or two were there today. They've consistently brought decent followings to the Lane, a ground where they have not won since 1988.

Yeah but we were fucking wank at keepy uppy today. Get it sorted Adkins fucks sake.

They play Tony McMahon on the wing... Tony McMahon... On the wing

While I think he is a terrible fullback, a worse human being and just very boring to watch, he does have a good assist record. He has a decent cross on him, which suits the way they normally play.

Just found this on their forum, high praise indeed....
Couple of things from today

Loved Billy sharp today. Don't care about his on/off the ball antics. He reminds me so much of Dean Windass and as he doesn't play for us boo lol

Sharp and the big bald guy up front today should have shown Parky how our front two should be playing.

In fact I actually enjoyed watching United play and was envious.

The most pleasant comments regarding us since Peterborough. Hopefully their fans will be saying the same on Saturday

Yeh got to admit that from 50 mins to 70 mins we actually played with SWAGGER.
The last time I saw that was when Danny Wilson was manager in his first season.

I wasn't that impressed with us the first half as it was quite even
However I must admit that even in that 1st half we showed massive desire, physicality and detemination.
Even if we lack skill and ability whilst ever we show the John Brayford spirit I'll always support this team.

Very impressed with our showing today. On that display I would fancy our chances in the playoffs.

“They were better than us at passing, tackling, heading, shooting, running, positioning, marking, moving, goalkeeping, managing, working the ref and all other aspects of playing football."

Doesn't get any better than that. Especially with it all being true.

"We're Sheff United; we're taking the piss..." :D

Bradford are the only team that, during the 5 years we have spent down here, have contributed to it feeling like we are back in the Championship.

Can't agree with this when I've been at full house Sheffield Derbies with the beamback being watched by thousands.

Talking of teams in this league and Championship, does anyone remember/feel sorry for little Yeovil? Those were three interesting trips to the West Country..

There were many factors to the good performance yesterday, but one of two reasons Coutts had a could game (one being Brayford being behind him) is that Billy Sharp had his best game. I've always defended Coutts, and most of our midfielders, as they are often the scapegoat - the defenders give them the ball and they are expected to do something positively, 99.95 of the time the midfielder looks up and sees statues 30/40/50 yards away and has zero options, other than to pass backwards or sideways. Cue moans and groans.

Yesterday, wbecause of Sharp's hunger and willingness to pull defenders out of position and come deeper, it gave players like Coutts forward options - something we haven't seen this season.

After the match I'd have thought the comments would have been nastier, I'll be honest. Fair play Bradford fans.
