Oh how we forget! He came on after an hour in the last home match of last season (v Chesterfield) and looked utterly disinterested and out of his depth.

Or maybe a 17 year old kid in a local derby in front of the biggest crowd he's ever experienced, coming on as a sub and struggling to pick up the pace of a full blooded fixture.

I might end up going to a Northampton game later this season (need to go down to the area a couple of times, am able to get heavily reduced tickets) so hopefully he'll still be there if I do (it is a season long loan, right?)

No, expires 4th Jan.

Any chance of getting me some heavily reduced tickets for the home games JT?
Heavily reduced to say, around 10 minutes?!!

I watched some of the game and he wasn't too impressive. His headed goal was excellent though.

Thanks Bergen. Really high hopes for this lad but, the fact that he has been on the bench quite a bit shows he is still learning his trade. Seems popular with their fans which is great, also impressed the Stalybridge supporters during his short spell with them. The good thing for me is that he is working with a good, experienced lower league manager in Chris Wilder.

What position has he been playing for Northampton?
I don't suppose he's a box-to-box central midfielder with an eye for a goal is he?

They've used him mostly up front, but on occasions on the left as well. For our U18/U21 teams he's played a lot in central midfield as well. He's athletic, but still needs to get stronger.

Great news if this comes off Loughboro. Think it is too early for him to return, would suit all parties I would have thought.

Got to agree. Part of me would love to see him back here fighting for a first team place in January. But, given that he doesn't start every game for Northampton yet (far from it), it's not really realistic.

Great that he's made such an impact that they want to extend the loan. Definitely best for his development if he stays there for the season IMO.

He put another good chance over the bar just after he'd scored.

Part of me would like to see him back but perhaps it's not the right time and he might be better off continuing to learn his trade at Northampton.

He needs to finish the season off at Northampton and be starting every game to be considered before stepping up. Not sure why we stopped developing players in the same manner like Walker and Naughton etc; Kids at 18 need to be playing a mans game in front of thousands of fans.
