So Oldham role in to town on Saturday in what is a no pressure FA Cup match ( assuming the league is the overwhelming priority)

What are the chances of a convincing 3.0 win given our players sudden ability to 'turn up' under such conditions?

Whilst I always want The Blades to win I hope if they do turn up Nigel isn't led to believe we have turned the corner and are 'United together' 'United as one' just because we managed to 'stick it in at one end and keep it out at the other' during a no pressure game.

So what chance of a rousing performance this weekend followed by a non-display the weekend after?

It is a cup game, so our players might give a toss about this match.

I've got a bad feeling we will lose to Oldham, just to compound our misery.
Wouldn't bother me now, I'd rather the players save their energy and motivation for league games - we have Coventry the week after!

It's so hard to call nowadays with this lot. Nigel hinting at playing fringe players, so chances of a convincing win, slim.

Look at it this way, if we lose then there's zero chance of coming up against Wednesday and being humiliated rather than just a very small chance.

In an ideal world I'd rather play the kids and have the first team focus on the upcoming month of tough league games.

Unfortunately Adkins needs a win of some kind from anywhere so we have to use the game to try and get important players confidence and form going.

Obviously I want it all to click and we smash them off the park. I'm not arsed if we get a lucky 1-0 win or a loss otherwise

6 of the last 7 matches with Oldham have been draws. Both clubs are in poor shape. I wouldn't be surprised to see Flynn and Cuvelier start. Adkins needs a win to stop the downward momentum. I'd go for a 2-2 draw. Not bothered about the cup this season though - first time for ages that I just want the season over.

two thirds of season to go yet
time for lots of good things to happen
get some Dorothy red shoes on tap twice and say
theres no place like the Lane

watching Liverpool hammer Saints I was thinking there were Liverpool treading water under Rogers
in comes a jolly German and the same squad that was looking bang ordinary transform into a really good side

A total change of tack with no incoming players
yes we arent Liverpool , but the principle is the same
players being shit can transform under the right conditions
